Ice skating Birthday Scrapbook page

Since I showed you the cake, I thought I may aswell share the scrap book pages I made to celebrate Jessica's 6th birthday. Above is page one of a two page spread.Materials:
Stampsets: garden whimsy, Be happy, Lovely letters, Happy everything.
Cardstock: Textured Rose red, Whisper white.
Paper: Bali Breeze DS patterned.
Ink: whisper white craft ink, stazon black
Accessories: Clear buttons, Circle scallop punch, scallop edge, white signo gel pen.

Here's some detail of the buttons:

(I love how you can stamp on them with stazon ink, or embossing powder too - here I've just adhered them with doublesided tape so you can see the stamp underneath.
My daughter loves butterflies and lady beetles, so the garden whimsy stampsets with their spots seemed to match the
paper and the spotted top my girl is wearing.
Her smile tells it all - for how many years will fairy bread get a girl so excited!

Smile, Laugh, be happy, enjoy!

The technique used on the Be happy flower is called Mirror image.

1. I chose a large bold stamp that could easily be divided in two balanced sections.

2. Selected two coordinating ink colours - that would be Eggplant and Rose red.

3. I stamped the image twice (0nce in each of my colours) on to the amethyst cardstock.

4. Cut both images in half, then lined up the contrasting halves.

To line them up perfectly, I cut them both out at the same time.

Its true, I could have made atleast 5 cards with the elements I put on this one card, but I have saved time by not having to load that many card photos.

Materials used:
  • Cardstock: Whisper white, almost amethyst, elegant eggplant.
  • Ink: Elegant eggplant, Rose red, white craft ink.
  • Ribbon: Elegant eggplant grosgrain. Small eyelets: soft subtles (pink and plum).
  • Stampsets: Linen background, Be happy, Its all good.

Stamping Bookmarks

On Tuesday night I had an evening in with some girlfriends ... several cups of tea, chocolate biscuits ... I got home a bit late and am still suffering the effects of sleep deprivation.
The other ladies made multiple christmas cards - hmmm I just made one.
Oh, and this very handy bookmark in black and white.
Now I know I picked this idea up from several websites - the bookmark and tab on a string. There are many different varieties out there. So, If it's yours please just leave me a comment and I will give credit where credit's due.

I think the bookmarks make excellent small gifts that you could put in with your christmas cards ... then there is that wonderful perforated card with the detachable bookmark that I will be experimenting with very soon! Not to mention a triangular corner page bookmark.
As you may have guessed I read a lot (on the train to work) and so bookmarks are an essential accessory for me, mostly I have used tickets and receipts and scraps of paper to mark my place, so this will be so much nicer ... to have a decorative and stamped bit of cardstock within the pages of your book.

Stampset: Be Happy. Ink: White craft. Cardstock: Black

This is the christmas card I made. Season of joy christmas tree and Holiday Harmony DS paper. I used my brand new tab punch to cut out the tabs on the right side and the large oval punch for the Very merry greeting with a silver brad and a wrap of organza ribbon on the left (for balance).

It is quite simple, very little stamping although perhaps it needs a swirl on the confetti white cardstock ... oh and the cardstock used is always artichoke - the new green in cardmaking especially since the old olive is on back order this month!!!
