What says christmas more than christmas carols and ornaments on the tree?
Jess has two music teachers and her class teacher plays the recorder so these musical notes just make a lovely background for several of her cards.
Simple as: this second one uses just the musical notes wheel, Delightful decorations and Greetings of the Season stampsets and the ornament punch.
First card is Elegant eggplant and Marina Mist while the second one has more traditional colours of Real Red and Lucky Limeade green.
If you are needing to place an order before Christmas, please send an email to nerida_carter@hotmail.com or text to 0468 877 125 by the 14th December.

Shimmer paint and creating the mother of pearl effect
Many have asked: What more can you do with shimmer paint ?
The second card we made last weekend used the
Elements of Style stampset with the
"Mother of pearl" technique.
To start, we used a circle of Gloss white cardstock as a shiny base to stamp on.
We stamped our "Elements of style" humming bird - rock and rolling it in the Lucky Limeade and Island Indigo inks. The glossy cardstock is slippery so you need to stamp carefully and give it a moment to dry.
Next we scrunched a piece of cling wrap and dabbed it into the shimmer paint (on a plastic lid). You lightly dab the cling wrap onto the gloss paper and wait while it dries.
Lastly, sponge a soft colour like Pool Party, baja breeze, pink pirouette, pretty in pink over the shimmer paint (the shimmer resists the ink).
And you have an effect that looks like "Mother of pearl"!
Too easy!
It looks best out in the light, with the sun shining on it.
I like this one with the Creative Elements butterfly.
And check out that groovy piece of crunchy Seam binding Pool party ribbon !!!Sprayed and crunched with Frost white SHIMMER PAINT - in isocol spray.
Hope you liked it - Enjoy!

Watercoloured Butterfly
I have to show you a card I made
at a friend's house (Hey Linda!) ... was it a week ago, now?
Warning - Don't borrow this lace border punch UNLESS you intend to own it.
After making this card with the lace ribbon punch I have put it on my next order wish list.
It is so easy to punch a border and you can thread it with ribbon or lace.
I will be using it on scrapbook pages, wrapping around gifts, cutting it up for individual flowers and as a belly band around boxes.
Doesn't it dress up this very plain one layer card?
The butterfly is punched out of First Edition Designer series paper with the 6.4cm circle punch. I have simply watercoloured it with my aquapainter brush using Pool party and Lucky Limeade Ink.
The card is sprayed or is it Spritzed with some Soft Suede ink
(looks like aged fly dirt) there's a tool for this.
And the Musical notes are "wheeled" on to the paper also in Soft Suede ink.
To finish it off the Victorian Crochet ribbon is tied loosely around a few holes in the
Lace Ribbon Border Punch.

Christmas music
Real Red and whisper white ... just say: Merry Christmas!
The musical notes are wheeled in real red ink and between the lines I have stamped the teeny tiny sentiments.
Add a touch of Lucky Limeade and Early Espresso Ink and you have a Card for the music teacher.

The white satin ribbon adds a soft elegence to this card
with the "Merry Christmas" from the Contempo Christmas set.
Now no Christmas card is complete without the addition of Dasher the reindeer, fussy cut to sit on top of dimensionals... sponged in Early espresso and Champagne shimmer paint.

Musical Thank you!
Today's card is a card we gave to Jessica's Violin Teacher at the end of term.
A very talented teacher, Jessica could play several short tunes in just 9 weeks ... and eventually learnt to hold the bow and finger board correctly!

Kangaroo Hop, bop she Wop!
During November and December I don the Proud-Mummy hat and follow my daughter to singing performances at Libraries and Shopping Centres as she spreads her school's Christmas cheer.
We did some scrapbooking at a friends place and I found the XL Scallop Circle punch is just perfect for making Christmas baubles from photos with a piece of taffetta red ribbon for the string. A bit of tearing and rhinestones, shimmer paint and stickers - another set of scrapbooked memories going down in history....
I have managed to squeeze on 5 or more photos to the page using the photo as bauble trick. Plus using some photos in portrait and some overlapped in landscape mode.

Jessie's singing club sing traditional carols and lots of fun modern tunes: my favourites are Kangaroo Hop and Santa wear your shorts tonight. Good Aussie Christmas carols that stick around in your head for months!
Jess just makes me laugh, she took a handfull of bells and got right into the dancing and ringing with "Come on Ring those Bells" and she did!
She Jingled those bells and made Rudolf very proud.
