Sweet birthday Animal stories

Ahh, now is the time of children's birthdays and school holidays ... the days are longer and our girls need something to keep them occupied. I may not be able to post on my blog so often, or I will have to do so at night... Any way I wanted to share this cute card I made for my daughter's friend. It features 3 of the 4 animals in the Animal Stories stampset.
There is the pink elephant, blowing love hearts from his trunk.
The taken with Teal Whale balancing his love hearts on his tail.
And the white owl with his wobbly eyes. He is just so cute!Inside the card I took direction from my 6 (almost 7) year old expert as to where to stamp the animals and what to say...
What I used to make this card:
Stampsets: Animal stories, sweet birthday, Best yet.
Cardstock: Taken with teal, whisper white.
Ink: taken with teal, Pink passion, whisper white.
Markers: so saffron, taken with teal, rose red, bordering blue.
Punches and tools: 1 3/4 " circle, word window punch, eyelet border punch.
Mini Glue dots (stampin' Up), gold hearts and wobbly eyes (generic).

Christmas photo cards

Twenty two days left until Christmas ... I haven't posted all the cards out yet! And I was promising to get it all done by last month. Well, atleast I have sent the overseas cards off...
There is very little stamping on this card ... a few punches, scoring and drawing the lines for the baubles but otherwise not too tricky and not too many steps to complete a mass of cards for the friends and relatives who want a Christmas photo.
You can see from the side that I have layered the photo collage between the two layers of the card and punched a hole with my crop a dile through all three layers then tied it with some real red ribbon. You open the card to see the full sheet of photos - my collage of pictures is from different months throughout the year. (You have to love digital photos for this and the program I use is very easy - I did this in less than 20 minutes, promise).
On the first card I did I use a jumbo eyelet to tie the ribbon through, but figured this was an extra step I could do with out. Under the hole I have scored the cardstock so that it folds up neatly to show the photos and the sentiment inside.I have used several sized circle punches: 1 1/4 ", 1 3/8" and 1 3/4" ... why are they in inches? so hard to remember which is larger, and by how much larger.
Any way then I used the cut out red circle as a bauble and placed another white circle on top with the sentiment, layered on a dimensional. All of the cards were differently punched showing different photos, so if the cousins and aunties share notes, they all get a different card... hee hee!

Products I used:
Stampset: Best yet. Ink: Real Red Classic.
Real red cardstock, whisper white cardstock, Real red polka dot ribbon, circle punches, white signo gel pen, crop-a-dile.
Scoring: I used my bone-folder and ruler.

Enjoy!!!

Great friend butterfly ... the best yet!

This is the third card in this series... just had to load them one by one ... now I have a photo of all three of them together.Once again I have rock and rolled the butterfly in pink pirouette and riding hood red and used a brad to hold the buttlerfly in its place on the damask medallion on whisper white cardstock.

The Sentiment: to you from me is from Best yet stampset.... and raised on two circles punched out and placed onto the scalloped edge circle ... The paper is from the stampin'up designer series - Bella Rose.
Just loving these colours and girly patterns.

Which one did you like best?

Forest friends ... a little something for a little someone

Today's card uses Forest friends and the Best yet stampsets:I have pulled out my embossing tools and done the bunny in silver embossing powder, he looks so cute for a baby card and shines in the light. The sentiment is from Best yet. The Best yet stampset is a hostess gift, you can only get it if you, and your friends host a workshop - either at your home or a virtual workshop (where you place orders to the value of $300). I love this little set it has words for nearly every occasion. I have used it constantly on my cards.
I like to use the circle punch and mat it with a darker coloured cardstock. To give some depth I have overstamped the sentiment with a pale pink pirouette damask stamp. The same one I have stamped in the background. The ribbon is Riding hood Red striped grosgrain. I chose these colours because they match with the Bella Rose designer series patterned papers.
And I can really only cope with monotone colour schemes atm.
Enjoy!

So glad we're friends - Oval flower

Quick easy card today - Featuring the baja breeze set of patterned papers.
Starting with a square card base, made from 1/3 of a A4 piece of cardstock, I have layered a piece of Pacific point cardstock and then a piece of DSP from Urban garden in baja blue tones. This just wasnt enough patterned paper so I have cut out six large ovals from the Patterns designer series paper in baja breeze, using both sides for variety.
The centre circle is a piece of patterned paper overlayed with vellum cardstock.
And, the sentiment is from the hostess stampset: Best yet.

Lastly, the ribbon is Pacific point striped grosgrain, tucked in and adhered behind the pacific point cardstock layer. Enjoy!!!

Sweet always paper... and glossy white

When it first came out in the mini, I loved this stampset ... and now I have the paper to match! Yesterday, I didnt have time to explain the techniques I used on the little bird and heart. It is difficult to see in the picture. But the bird, flower, sentiment and heart are all stamped on gloss white paper. It gives the card a lovely glossy dimension (just like a bought one!) ...
This little bird is stamped in regal rose, only.
And this one is in regal rose and rose red.
The Always flower is stamped in regal rose and punched out with the 1 1/4" circle punch and attached with the gorgous flower brads. (Rumour is we are expecting coloured flower brads in the Spring Mini - launched in August).
Any way I digress, the cardstock I used for the card base is Perfect plum and the papers used are from the Sweet always packet of Double sided DS paper. Here is a sample of all the patterns and colours you get (12 sheets - 2 of each design):
And finally, the always heart was coloured using stampin' up markers. You can buy them individually now. The markers I used were pretty in pink, regal rose, rose red, always artichoke and perfect plum. And the greeting is from the hostess set: Best yet.

Can you see this in other colours and stampsets? so many ideas so little time. Enjoy!

The 3D scene Pop up card.

Don't you just love pop up books? How about a card with a pop up scene inside ?
This is how it looks on the outside ...

Pretty isn't it? When you open it up - out pops a scene of stamped images. You can have words and birds, flowers and hearts or anything attached to the walls of your scene. This one reminds me of a little girls pink wall papered bedroom.I have used the Always Designer series paper to line the card and the matching Always stampset and Enjoy stampset too.
I enjoyed adding accessories such as brads, dazzling diamonds glitter and crystal effects to the items in the scene. I've used the colours: tangerine tango, rose red and perfect plum with lots of rocking and rolling of the stamps in the different ink colours. The Always flower is topped with a punched out circle which has been covered in crystal effects and sprinkled heavily with dazzling diamonds for the added bling. I am thinking of making one of these for a special christmas card with Christmas trees and snow ...

This card closes with the Rose red stitched wide grosgrain ribbon. I have added two wide oval circles to strenghthen the edges as a little clasp. The hole where the ribbon threads through is punched with the Horizontal slot punch. Enjoy!

3D card - Always bird scenery.

When you become a stampin' up demonstrator you get access to a whole lot of inspirational resources: such as the demonstrator website, monthly newsletters with ideas to use in workshops and also electronic versions of the US stamping magezines.
This month's Stamping Success had an article on 3D projects.
That's where this little 3 dimensional card came from. It is made with two pieces of cardstock the same size. It is as simple as stamping a "scene" on the base piece of cardstock then punching some holes out of the top piece of cardstock. You score both pieces of cardstock at 1.5 and 3cm from both ends then stick the ends together. When you push the two sides together the card becomes a 3D "view box".

Add some accessories like the kiwi kiss silk ribbon and a sentiment punched out of gloss white cardstock. I have used a stamp from the hostess gift "Best Yet".

Stampsets: Always, friends 24/7, Best yet. Cardstock: Kiwi kiss, whisper white and gloss white. Ink: kiwi kiss, baja breeze, pacific point. Accessories and Tools: Silk ribbon, 1 3/4" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle, 1" circle punch, scallop circle punch, dimensional adhesives.

Fifth avenue floral - brayered in kiwi kiss and baja breeze

I had fun with this one. The background was embossed with versamark and clear embossing powder using the Tres chic background stamp. I stamped the fifth avenue flower in versamark and white embossing powder, then did the brayer - Roll out your tensions for a moment technique!!! Using baja blue, Pacific point and kiwi kiss inks.
Now as if that was not enough, then when it was dry I added Crystal effects on to some of the petals to raise them up and give just alittle bit more texture.
I have wrapped some lovely Pacific Point ribbon around the black cardstock. Tied a ribbon bow.
Then punched out large oval says just because I care... from the hostess stampset: Best yet.
The clear rhinestone brad is actually reflecting the pacific point blue ribbon.

Brayer cards ... the beginning

I have a brayer, but it was uninked, it was unused, untried ...
until I went to a brayering class at my wonderful upline Linda's house and we made the card above ( pink pirouette and two lovely blues ) it was late at night so I am not sure right now which ones.
Then the next day I made my own version in perfect plum and pale plum .... it is so much fun!!!
Here it is a little closer ... I have brayered pink pirouette, then pale plum and finally perfect plum in layers onto gloss white cardstock. The colours blend so beautifully and you can not determine the outcome, time and drying and chance play a great part.
My background stamp is Tres Chic, stamped in perfect plum on perfect plum cardstock.
The mount of course is basic black and the "to you from me" sentiment is from the Hostess set - Best yet stamped on textured pale plum cardstock.
The flowers are pocket silhouettes.
One of those cards that look far better in real life ... cant show you the shiny cardstock without a reflection, nor will the perfect plum purple photograph very well in this type of light. But you get the idea.
Warning: more cards to come.

Scrapbooking page - Friends.

When you receive a parcel of papers and new stampsets on your doorstep and it is raining and cold outside ... there is nothing else to do but scrapbook with photos that you have at hand.

When you are six years old, visiting and meeting up with friends is a very special event!
Throw horses and a carousel, jumping castle, climbing equipment and fair rides into the mix and you have a pretty special day! Scrapbook pages kind of evolve for me ... I was thinking a garden theme of rolling green hills with pretty pink and blue flowers. I have used the textured incolour cardstocks of Kiwi Kiss and pink Pirouette as a base. The Title is made using the big deal alphabet stampset, paper pieced and using the the Raspberry tart Double sided paper. I couldn't decide whether to use a pink butterfly or a blue one ... but settled on the pink eventually. The flowers scattered over the page are from Fifth Avenue Floral ... I have used just one image from the stampset in pink pirouette, rose red, regal rose ink, Baja breeze and kiwi kiss ink colours taken from the photos and papers.
The Glad we're friends is a hostess stampset (Best yet - my new favourite) ... mounted on a circle scallop of DS paper to link the pink ribbon and paper strip.

I do love the colours in this paper pack (Rose red, kiwi kiss and pink pirouette).
