A morning cup is Tea-rific!

Today 's card is quick and fun to make.
All it took was a wheel of the Tea cups along a white strip of card.
Stamping the back ground with random cups and teabags.
A tea pot stamped and punched with my circle punch.
Then out with the Stampin' Write markers to colour in the cup designs.
As you can see I wasn't particularly neat with my colouring ... just watercoloured with the aquapainter pen, leaving lots of white space.
Some people might think that watercolouring is difficult but if you use the fine end of the markers for details and keep to colouring small areas its a breeze.
I just added the "Tea"rific and Happy Birthday senitment and the card was done.
Here's another card I  made awhile ago, with the same stampset, wheel and some embossing for texture.
It is my stampset that I go to for morning teas, Kitchen teas, Tea parties, High-teas, invitations for tea...
You can't go past a good cup of well brewed tea at any time of day.
A little bit on the strong side, with milk.
You can design your own colours for your teapot cups and mugs.
By the way this set comes with a coffee pot stamp too.
Enjoy!!!

A Morning cup to "perk" you up

When you are feeling a little bit down or a little tired and emotional what's the perfect pick me up?
A card from a friend, of course.
Aren't these little take-away cup cards just perfect?
They would make lovely Thank you cards, Invites, Thinking of you or, Random acts of kindness cards.
The tutorial for these is at: Lorri Heiling's stampaddict blog.
I made a few changes with the measurements.
These are made using half an A5 card. which is 10.5cm high.
I just cut a normal card in half then trimmed a diagonal off each side, making the bottom 2.5 cm narrower than the top. If that doesn't make sense ask me for directions.
The band around the centre is crimped with my crimp tool to look like the belly band of an insulated cup.
The whole cup was also crimped for that realistic texture and this belly band is from Mocha Morning Specialty paper. I've stamped the Tea cups from the A la carte stamp and raised them with dimensionals.
The top of the cup (mmm I think they call it the lid) has a 3D white strip on it.
Now if I had the SWAK lip stamp I could put a bit of lipstick on the edge for realism... but as I don't we will have to suffice with a "poppy parade" love heart punched with the Small heart punch.
The last one needed to have some purple on it as it was for a friend who likes the purples...
I think the "kindness matters" butterflies are also a happy perk-me-up stamp with Boho Blossom flowers and a touch of Concord crush ribbon.

Another Crafter's Anonymous project - Tea caddy

I look forward to Monday night classes over at Crafter's Anonymous...
You never know what the project is going to be.
Prior to the class we receive a list of supplies needed and only get to see the completed project towards the end of the class - it's very exciting!
So enough chat - here is what we made:
I chose to use the Lap of luxury Designer Series papers: Just love how they combine Concord Crush and Pretty in Pink.
The Box is made out of a piece of 12 x 12 Cardstock, patterned paper and some contrasting cardstock for the top and bottom. Reinforced on the base and lid with some thin cardboard (from the DSP packaging).
The Tea caddy would hold a whole box of Tea bags... I just chose this brand because they were purple and matched my colours.
My box opens with a hinged lid at the top so you can continuously add more if you wish to.
This one is definitely for tea bags as the stamping is from the lovely "Morning Cup" set.
A quick dab of water colouring and Stampin' Write marker work and I was done.
Recipe:
Cardstock: Concord Crush 12x12 smooth, Pretty in pink, whisper white.
DS paper: Lap of Luxury
Stampset: Morning Cup Clear mounted
Inks: Concord Crush.
Markers: Pretty in pink, marina mist, daffodil delight.
Aquapainter (for water colouring)
Word Window Punch, XL Scallop circle Punch.
Sponges, Sticky strip, snail and Dimensionals.

Stamping with Stazon on a metal box

Cute, simple:  a nice useful tin for tea bags or coffee.
I stamped directly on to the tin with black Stazon ink using my rubber stamps.
If you make a mistake (who me?) you rub it off with stazon cleaner and try again.
Stamping on the lid with stazon black ink was just as easy ... it reads:
 "Caffeine isn't a drug, its a vitamin!"
So then I made a Poppy Parade paper daisy with a vintage brad on top.
Added some ribbon ...
Early Espresso striped grosgrain of course, it kind of goes with the tin do you think?
Then some extra flowers and a Poppy Parade red tag...
And voila!
Hand made gift!
On one side the tag says "perk up" and the other side says "Tea-rific" so you can put either of your caffeine vitamins inside the tin.
I thought this will make a nice hand made gift for a friend of mine.
I can show you now as she has had her birthday and is enjoying her cups of coffee.
Gift tin Recipe:
Stampset: Morning cup, Punch potpourri
Ink: Stazon black, Early Espresso, Poppy Parade
Cardstock: Poppy Parade, Very Vanilla
Ribbon: Early Espresso
Techniques used: stamping on metal and inking paper daisies.

A Tea-rific new stampset ... Morning Cup

How gorgeous is this little tea pot and it's  co-ordinating stampin' around wheel.?
Can you pick the new colours I have used in this card?
Early Espresso for the card base and the striped ribbon!
I've used it for the outline of the teapot and cups too.
My Tea pot is coloured with stampin' write markers: Pear pizazz and blushing bride.
And, I have used all the new in-colours on the wheeled cups ... Peach parfait, Poppy Parade, Concord Crush, Pear Pizazz and Blushing Bride ...
And I could not resist putting just a tiny bit of Rich Razzleberry cardstock behind my tea pot with the scallop circle punch with this tiny bit of 1/8" tafetta ribbon to hold the tiny tag saying friend.
Morning cup suits both the coffee addicts and the tea sippers ...
Lots of ideas here for a tea-rific friend cards, cheer up, get well soon,  thinking of you, come over for a visit, welcome to the neighbourhood, gift cards, and coffee morning invitations.
