Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party... just thinking

Another Thinking of you card... changed the colours to the very in - colours: Pool party and Wisteria Wonder.
I think they look very cool together.
Just thinking was inked with my Wisteria Wonder Stampin' Write marker and stamped on a whisper white circle punched out.
The lovely flowers are inked in Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant markers, then punched with the blossom punch and the small scallop circle punch.
I have pearls on everything at the moment. Love how they come in so many different sizes for the centre of flowers and accents on words.   Enjoy!

Clam shell box - crafters anonymous

Each Monday night the Crafters Anonymous group have an online class. This is the best gift box I have made in such a long time. It was designed by Dee Sturgeon from NZ.
The template can be purchased from their site from the homepage under For sale.
I just had to show you my version and how the box opens wide to fit a babies rolled singlet inside.
To give the box some interesting texture I have rolled it through my Big shot machine using the elegant lines embossing folder. And edged the inside of the box with the pinking hearts border punch.
It is very easy to make and closes with a piece of tafetta ribbon and a tag.
The singlet reads: 50% mummy, 50% daddy = 100% Perfect
Here it  is with the gift card I made a while ago to go with it.
A Perfect combination for a baby's shower or birthday.

Ribbon and Butterfly birthday

Apart from the butterflies, my favourite item on this card has to be the big bow in Early Espresso striped grosgrain. You can't go past a big bow! And this ribbon makes tying so easy...
 *     *     *
I take photos of nearly all the cards I make and then, I have to find the time to load them on to the computer and schedule them to go up on my blog. So if its 6 am on a Thursday, I am probably not loading this photo live.... I might have done it on a Wednesday at 2pm...
The card was made in the middle of February, not photographed until early March.
And posted to my friend Felicity only very recently.
So the card:
I've only used two stampsets: happy birthday from "Teeny tiny sentiments" and the scallop oval frame from "Perfect punches".
Early espresso Ink for stamping and white cotton ink, and melon mambo ink for sponging.
Have I said it before?
.... How did I make cards with out my Big shot machine?
The Melon Mambo cardstock is run through the Top note die, then the elegant lines embossing folder.
The butterflies are a die cut and they have also been through for a dose of the elegant lines embossing too.

Window sheet butterflies in Pink

I said I would be back with more window sheet butterflies ... such a stunning technique.
I have used two Big shot die cuts on this card.
The Beautiful butterfly die cut of course and the top note die.
Both of which have been run through again with the elegant lines embossing folder.
You can add the cotton white Stazon either with a sponge or just wiping the stazon ink pad around the edges of the butterfly wings.
My ribbon is the 3.2cm wide striped Grosgrain - this ribbon comes in 11 different colours... I can never choose which colour roll I want to buy next. There is an aweful lot of ribbon on a roll, over 9 metres .... thats a lot of bows and cards I will be making.
What will it be: Black, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Marina Mist, Pumpkin pie, Night of Navy, Real Red or Pretty in Pink?

Elegant lines and window sheet butterflies

This idea of butteflies made from window sheets comes from a fellow stampin up demo named Julia Emms. When I saw this beautiful idea of butterflies made from window sheets (aka: clear transparency) I just wanted to experiment with it.
The white ink on the edges of the plastic seems to accentuate the clear transparent butterfly wings and the purple caught my eye at first and then the elegant lines embossing and pearls.
The Thank you is from the stampset Curly Cute and punched out with the scallop oval punch with a little sponging on all layers.
So then I had try a double butterfly using two beautiful butterflies on top of each other.
The two butterflies can go through the embossing folder at the same time if you want the same texture on both layers.
The white ink is Stazon cotton white... just another thing you can sponge this white ink on to. I loved making this fairly simple card so I took a few photos of it from different angles. Thank you Julia Emms for the original idea and here is the recipe list.
Stampset: Curly Cute
Ink: Perfect Plum
Cotton White stazon.
Cardstock: Perfect Plum, whisper white, sahara sand.
Tools and accessories: Big shot machine, Elegant Lines embossing folder, Beautiful Butterflies Die cut,
Basic Pearl jewells, Scallop oval punch, Sponges,Mini glue dots and dimensional adhesives.

The gift card purse...

Every girl loves her handbag ...  or a pretty purse for a special occasion?
Well even if you're not into handbags... this one contains a gift card holder and that's a necessity for Christmas wishes.
Here is the first one I made out of the stylish "Love Letter" Designer Series patterned paper.
It is simply, some folded patterned paper and a Top note die cut, with ribbon.
My Big shot machine is  amazing for cutting out 4 or 5 of these at once, then I turn it around and run them through again with the "Elegant Lines" Embossing folder for the swirly texture.
Here is the first purse opened up. There is a place for a gift card on the inside and a panel for writing.
I have stamped the panel inside with the flowers from the Just Believe stampset.
This is one set I am enjoying as it has both words, frames, flowers and I haven't used it nearly enough yet.
On the outside I have punched the oval scallop and the large oval punch in the Love letter patterned paper.
Then stamped "just for you" from the Just Believe stampset.
It seals with a small dab of Dotto adhesive.
Which is a re-positional or non permanent glue and you can rub it off with your finger if you want to remove it later.
Would you like me to come over and make one of these at your place?
Simple gift card holder ... perfect for friend's Christmas gift vouchers, cash or why not a gift voucher from Stamping Joy?
Enjoy!

Embosslit butterflies with Beautiful vellum Wings

I haven't used much vellum lately, so I pulled out a piece and got busy with making embellishments for the gift box I showed you yesterday and some beautiful butterflies, numbers and frames.
I love how vellum is both opaque and semi transparent. Perfect for wings and and flimsy things!
I needed an elegant birthday card for a friend who was turning fifty.
It needed to be: elegant and pretty but not overly so.
Not sure if it met it's mark but I was careful to keep it monotone and with lots of feminine elements.
The butterflies are two layers: one of whisper white cardstock, stamped with the elements of style flowers (watercoloured in Rich razzleberry and a touch of pear pizazz ink).
The second layer is my embosslit "beautiful wings" butterfly ... sigh... how clever is this Big shot machine to both cut and emboss at the same time.
The edges of the wings and the indented embossing is touched with white shimmer paint.
The card base is of course: Rich Razzleberry cardstock put through the ever handy and useful Big shot machine to give that textured swirly background. The embossing folder is called Elegant lines.
I ummed and arrred about the fifty!!! put it on, no take it off, too much, too old...
Then decided you only get to give a fifty card ocasionally so, why not?
I did the numbers in soft vellum using the Timeless type alphabet and numbers and softened it further with some rhinestone stick on jewells, some shimmer paint, a piece of organza ribbon and the eyelet border punch.
Movie watched today: The Notebook.
