Stamping Collage card version 2.
This bird in a cage image just keeps appearing on my cards (it is from the Sale-a-bration Sale set "Happy Moments"). So I guess it is living up to its name as it has afforded me many happy stamping moments ...
On this card I decided I would continue with the bird theme with a gold embossed and dazzling diamond encrusted feather. I know over the top, but when you are sending a handmade card who writes the rules?
The sender!
The background stamping is from Rustic rooster (another free set for you when you host a workshop or, place orders to the value of $300).
Card Recipe:
Stampsets: Happy Moments (free), Nature's nest, Life Definitions, Rustic Rooster (free).
Cardstock: Old Olive, Basic black, whisper white.
Ink: Old olive, VersaMark, Stazon black, creamy caramel (for sponging).
Other: gold embossing powder, heat tool, two way glue pen, dazzling diamonds glitter, kraft taffetta ribbon, antique brad, sponge.

Newcastle Craft Expo
Just had to share some photos with you of the cards I am demonstrating at the Newcastle Craft Expo this weekend. My product demo was the sweet treat cups showing several different ways to mount them on a card and also the variety of fun things you can put in them.
I used the Designer Series paper on each card from the Bella Bleu Patterns pack. This one I filled with ginger bears.... they might be fun to give to a pregnant friend if she is experiencing morning sickness all day.
My card is opened using a sliding door to let the jelly-bear-babies fall out from the back. I have decorated the slider with the bird in a cage from Happy Moments stampset.
(A FREE stampset during SALEABRATION when you spend $100).
On my second card I have used the sweet treat cup as a glitter and shaker for gold hearts. The Cardstock is kiwi kiss, the patterned paper is bella bleu once again and the bird from Happy Moments.
I love gold hearts and super fine glitter together. The hole for the sweet treat cup is punched with a 1 3/4" circle punch. The cup is glued down with its own sticky strip tape at the back. After you have put the glitter and hearts in the bowl.
I have added a piece of chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon and an oval punch for the Happy birthday sentiment at the top and some sponged ink for definition.
If you are reading this post on Sunday, its not too late to get to the show at the Entertainment centre, Broadmeadow. Its open from 10am - 4.30pm. Stampin Up are on stand F13. And don't forget to sit your self down for a make and take card and fill out a lucky door prize form to win a free stampset, ink pads, cardstock and ribbon. I had such a great day on Saturday talking to everyone.
More tomorrow...
Enjoy!!

Happy Moments - the icing on the cake!
Its all about the frosting on the cake - this one is dazzling and glittering with white "frosting".
I recieved the Recipe in the Stampin' Up demonstrators magezine.
It was created by Marlize Morris a Canadian demonstrator who was making her own version of "Faux snow" with dazzling diamonds, white embossing powder and Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive.
In the heating process she accidently invented the "Faux Frosting technique" instead!
I whipped up my own batch of faux frosting (here it is close up). My first attampt was nearly burnt to a crisp with the heat tool, another layer of glue and glitter and you'd never know.
I managed to make two cards in similar colour combinations.
I've chosen Pumpkin pie because it goes great with Riding hood red, Kiwi kiss and Chocolate chip.
This month and next (until 31 March) is Sale-a-bration time at Stampin' Up
and it is the time that you can get a
FREE STAMPSET for every hundred dollars of product purchased.
And as a hostess you get another free stampset for every $600 in workshop sales.
Plus all the usual Hostess benfits and free product!
Happy moments is just one of the four free stampsets you can choose.

Don't you just love that tafetta ribbon in chocolate chip? It ties so beautifully, either in a knot or in a bow...

January Elite Challenge - SC29.
Ten more days to go until Sale-a-bration! I just had to mention that.
The January challenges over at the Elite Challenges Team site have started for another month. This sketch comes from a card design on page 17 of the Summer mini.
I have replaced the dragonfly image with the Bird in a cage from Happy moments stampset (available Free from 25 January during Saleabration).
As soon as I saw this stampset with the bird in a cage and happy birthday words I knew what I wanted to do with it. . .
Embossing .... not surprised?
The cage image has been stamped in versamark and gold embossed.

I liked the idea of the golden cage hanging from something like a tree or the verander. The Frames with a flourish stampset have lots of curly wrought iron like frames, so imagine this little song bird singing on the front verander.
Now that I have used these Basic Jumbo Grommets with ribbon I find it hard to just tie a bow anymore ... another of those accessories you wondered how you ever got by with out.

Black and white with dazzling diamonds
I guess by now most or, atleast some of you, will have in your hands a copy of the Sale-a-bration catalogue and be planning how you will earn your saleabration free stampset(s). Stampin' Up have set it to start on 25 January this year, to get us over the Christmas, new year rush and I guess our little ones will be back at school by then too. I wanted to show you what I have been doing with my pre-order set and give you a sneak peak.

My favourite of the 6 stamps in this set has to be the little bird in the cage. I have stamped it in black stazon, added orchid opulence with my aquapainter and dazzling diamonds to the cage.
The punch used is the large tag punch. Just the right size for these three images.
Flowers - just as gorgous I think with their simple shapes -A tulip, a something and a rose?
And my most used stamp so far - the presents: I like the patterns just simple but decorative enough to watercolour and glam up with glitter on.
The wheel at the top is Bella's Border in Black Stazon ink. It gives a nice crisp image on what ever stamp you use it on.
No prizes for guessing the border punch? Its the eyelet scallop punch on Basic Black cardstock.
Would you like to host a Sale-a-bration workshop at your place? Contact me to lock in your date between 25 Jan and 31 March.
