Another Owl card today!

Surprise!
It's a Christmas card and it has that cute little owl on it.
The design is simple, for a large number of cards to be made in one session.
The very few ingredients Recipe:
Stampset: Owl Occasions (note the background stamping on the Gumball green strip)
I placed all the little clear mount stamps on a single block and did a quick background with only one or two inkings - yay!!!
Colours are: cherry cobbler, gumball green, Midnight muse and a soft suede branch.
Tools: 6.4cm circle punch and Modern label punch.

Scentsational Christmas

Well there are six more days of school for my little one and we have been making cards for all the girls in the class. We attached a chocolate bell to each card and Jess handed them out at school on monday.
It is a lovely time of year to share something nice with your friends.
Jess's first card was a little time consuming to replicate 16 times so we decided to go with the Christmas tree and star from the Scentsational Season stampset. With a few gingerbread men stamped inside.
Note card Recipe:
Cardstock: whisper white
Stampsets: Scentsational Season, Merry Minis and Owl occasions (for the sentiment)
Ink: Gumball green, Real Red, More mustard and Midnight Muse.

Owls for Christmas

We are in the last rush for Christmas day ... only twenty days to go!
I know where to get the turkey, I have posted my international mail and am still making the local Christmas cards. This set of Owl cards came to gether with two of my stamping friends: Soph and Jill only last Tuesday. This little stampset packs a lot of character and has several little detail stamps to create a variety of scenes.
This is my Real Red and Baja Breeze version with Christmas hat, christmas stocking and holly.
I have added the Baker's twine and embossed woodgrain for background texture.
He's bright and hopeful!
Then I added a few dazzling details on the hat, eyes and stocking for sparkle.
Difficult to photograph but so special in real life. A little bit of bling lifts every card out of the ordinary.
I think I like this colour combo of Baja breeze with Cherry cobbler details.
Isn't he so cute?  I think I might add some presents falling into, or out of that stocking...
And the current collection inspired by the photos in the Holiday catalogue ... no two of these cards are the same. Are you needing to order before Christmas?
Remember we have only 5 more shopping days at Stamping Joy before Christmas, so send me an email nerida_carter@hotmail.com with your order before Friday 14 December and I will do my best to get it to you for Christmas week.

Two tags for Owl Occasions

If this is Saturday then you know that I am at Stampin' Up's Heartfelt Event at Darling Harbour and enjoying an exciting day ... what else can I say?
Wish you were here!
In the meantime, here is the card I made for the Demo boards for the stampin' up! Heartfelt event.
Owls are very popular this season - I am seeing them on pillows, Manchester, children's clothes, birthday cards and wrapping paper.
I have die cut a tag from the Two tags die using the Big shot in my favourite cardstock ( Crumb cake ).
Then glammed it up just a touch with a decorative strip of
 gold glimmer paper
cut with the Finishing Touches edgelit die.
It hides a piece of sticky strip that anchors my folded scallopped Tulle ribbon.
Did you notice the little owl crown?
It is a small piece of glimmer paper cut from the edgelit and raised on an even smaller piece of dimensional.
Recipe:
Cardstock: Crumb cake, Basic Black, Whisper white.
Gold Glimmer paper.
Stampsets: Greetings of the season, Owl Occasions
Ink: White craft ink, and Basic black.
Antique Brads. Scallopped Tulle ribbon.
Tools: Big shot by Sizzix.
Dies:Two tags die, Edgelits, Apothecary accents,
Embossing folder: Lacy Brocade.
Corner rounder.
