Wishing you happiness...

This is definitely a card that is better in real life.
I am making a series of cards with fabric, layers and the textures.
It's a touchy feely card in both senses of the word.
Starting with the houndstooth embossing on the base card, the fabric scallop circle and ruffled ribbons.
Then, I distressed a piece of cardstock with lots of shimmer paint spray and tucked it underneath the folded tag on the front.
I have tied the tag with a ruffled ribbon and a vintage tag (with a pearl)!
Embossed the tag with the Designer frames folder (as it fits perfectly on to it).
And sponged and sprayed with ink and shimmer mist.
On the outside it says:
Wishing you ....
and on the inside:
... happiness, today and always.
Card Recipe:
Fabric: Timeless Portrait
Big shot machine
Scallop Circle die
Houndstooth embossing folder
Designer frames embossing folder
Two tags die.
Stampsets: Forever young
   Heard from the heart

Ink: Pool Party, Basic Black, Island Indigo.
Shimmer paint: Frost white
Itty bitty Punch Pack,
 Lace border punch.
Ribbon: vanilla seam binding, pool party ruffled.
Antique brad, mini vintage tag.
Sponge dauber and Pearls.

School holidays ...

School holidays come around very quickly don't they?
Here's my Jessica enjoying a Mini hot chocolate by the Beach on Monday ... the weather has been such a mixture: sunny and warm one moment, overcast and raining, windy then warm again.
We have been having a lovely few days... Jess makes her own things and I get to cook with her, eat with her and make my own projects.
And here is a Big shot project i made with a good friend last week -
The scallop circle Easel card with cup cake, ribbon and rhinestone cherry ...
Soft Suede and Melon Mambo are a gorgeous combination: like strawberries and chocolate.
Perhaps Jess and I have been eating a little too much of the Hazlenut and chocolate fudge icecream together? The elegant lines look like swirls of melting ice cream to me.
The Cupcake punch and cupcake stampset is from the current Winter mini catalogue.
And ,you can still order the XL scallop circle punch from the Summer mini carry over list.

Big shot Fashion !

Stampin' Up workshops are where I have the most fun ... making cards, meeting new people, listening to stories and sharing a cup of tea.
Even sharing a bit of fashion advice (if it comes in a stampin up cardstock I can find a colour combo that will work for you - We'll just pull out my faithful colour coach).  If in doubt everthing goes with Sahara sand or basic Black I say!
We made these cute little purses and then a card with a hat, dress and heart shaped belt with pearls.
You could accessorise over the top with these ones and for our younger girls even daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Pumpkin pie patterned paper isn't out of the question.
Enjoy!!!

Dress card in Winter white

Just sharing my second attempt at this card ... it may be winter, but we can dream of spring!
I have used the framed tulips embossing folder on the whisper white card, added some pearls and embossed the skirt this time with the square lattice texture.
You can make four skirts out of one scallop circle cut die.
So my daughter Jessica made a card on the same theme. I think she did an excellent job with the "in stitches" wheel as a background. Her princess fairy has a crown and wings, and shoes too!
Enjoy!!!

Scallop dresses

At convention this year I received and photographed so many great cards to share with you.
Part of the fun is coming home and making up your own versions of ideas you have seen.
This idea is from Katrina Criglington.
I have used the greenhouse gala patterned paper for her skirt.
Pumpkin pie cardstock for her top with Daffodil delight ribbon around her waisteband.
Being so bright and cheerful called for a Melon mambo background and with the cut out pieces of the bodice I have made a hat to match!
Couldn't finish an outfit without a rhinestone and punched flowers.
Tools: Big shot machine, Scallop circle die, crimper, 1 3/4 circle punch, 3/4 circle punch, Boho Blossoms punch, Eyelet border punch and Square lattice embossing folder.
Stick on Rhinestone jewells and Daffodil delight satin ribbon.
Cardstock: Basic Black, melon mambo, Pumpkin pie, whisper white.
Designer series paper: Greenhouse Gala.
Stamp: In stitches wheel.

Scallop easel with butterflies

Here is my second scallop easel card I have made in two days.... Its a bit bright so put your sunglasses on and have a closer look.
The scallops are enhanced on this second photo with some whisper white ink.
... I put it on some purple cardstock to make the scallop shape pop.
I've used the Peach Parfait cardstock on the butterflies and layered them with vellum to make the wings stand up off the page.
But really its all about the XLscallop punch.... and the square lattice textured embossing don't you think?
Did you notice the Extra-large Scallop Circle punch (118874) in the Summer mini catalogue?
It is finally available for purchase!!!
Due to some punches having quality issues with the cutting mechanism Stampin' Up have only just now released it for sale.
I have found it really hard not to use mine on every card I make as it is a really handy size and fits with the standard size punch beautifully.
You can see it used  here with the standard scallop circle punch ...
... And that glitter is the Smooch Spritz in Gold Glow (also from the Summer mini).
This circle scallop punch and the lattice folder are only available until the end of March 2011...
and I've notice a few other demos are doing March specials.
Not to be outdone - I am offering my own Exclusive Stamping Joy Special!
Email me your order for two new punches (valued at $33.95 each) and pay only $61 (that's 10% off).
