Embossed Upsy daisy scrapbook page

I have cleaned up my dining room (aka Nerida's craft table) . . . so in order to finish this scrap book page I had to wait a week, we had visitors and they might have wanted to use the dining table occasionally. So I haven't made a card for days... not that you would notice. I usually make up for a gap in stamping with a flurry of activity and ideas. I've pulled out the embossing powders again ... This time upsy daisy in silver embossing powder matched with the gorgous Designer series paper Urban Garden - I didnt even notice that this image was such a perfect match. But then Stampin' up always have the coordinating paper, stamp, colour ranges available for making a project work. That's why I really like these products.
The title for this page is embossed in white -I have used the quote from Van Gogh - The way to KNOW LIFE is to LOVE many things. (From the dreams du Jour stampset.)It reflects a child's attitude to life , I believe: love everything, be passionate about the simplest things and really enjoy every moment of the present. Be it a garden bed of daisies, an ant hill on the side of a bush track, a lizard sunning itself on a rock, pretending to be an explorer of strange and wondrous places...

What you need to make this page:
Stampsets: Upsy daisy, Dreams du Jour, Gallery.
Cardstock: Baja breeze textured and baja breeze A4 cardstock.
Designer series patterned paper: Urban garden
Ribbon: baja breeze Striped grosgrain.
Other: Versamark ink, silver and white embossing powder, distressing tool, white signo gel pen (for journalling).

Take an ordinary note book ...

With a piece of Designer series patterned paper and a strip of ribbon, add a few Stamped images, and you have changed a very ordinary note book into a special gift for a friend. The sentiment is one of my favourites: "The way to know life is to love many things." By Van Gogh. Who can argue with that?
One should have many passions in life, as many as you can fit into your heart. Then there is the Woodrow Wilson quote: We grow great by dreams. But does a caterpillar dream of growing into a butterfly? I have stamped the images on whisper white and mounted them with dimensional adhesive onto square scallops of kiwi kiss cardstock. I have used the crystal effects to add a shiny dimension on top of each image. Notice how it changes the depth of the colour.
Materials:
Stampset: Dreams du Jour.
Cardstock: whisper white
Designer paper: Urban garden
Ink: Kiwi kiss
Ribbon: kiwi kiss and vanilla silk
Other: Crystal effects, square scallop punch, small note book.

Best wishes and raspberry tarts...

This was the card I ended up with after Tuesday night's evening of stamping with a couple of friends. It is nothing like the original card I was intending to make, but none of my "creations" ever do I'm afraid, so I will stop apologising for that now.
To enjoy what you do you have to make what you like, what pleases your sense of creativity. Occasionally others like what I do, or they just like parts of what I do... its an individual thing and thats what I like about it - no two cards are ever the same, depending on the style and taste of the person who makes it.So the card is fairly simple only a few layers ... but I wanted to use one of my wheels: the baroque wheel in versamark ink, and then I decide to clear emboss it to make it dark and glossy. The patterned paper is from the Raspberry tart pack of papers. It is rose red, real red, cameo coral, kiwi kiss and pretty in pink. I love buttlerflies, and the wings kind of mirror the shape of the flowers in the background paper. I have rock and rolled the butterflies in regal rose and rose red ink. The Centre butterfly has a velum layer and is attached with a silver brad. If you look closely you will see I have used some versamark and clear embossing powder to accentuate the wings. I think my clear embossing powder has some dazzling diamonds in it, too. This greeting "Best wishes" is from the Oval All stampset, which becomes available on 1st of August in the new mini catalogue.
I have stamped it in regal rose and touched it up with rose red. Did I mention how useful the oval scallop punch is?

Materials used:
S
tampset: Oval all, Dreams du Jour, Baroque Border wheel.
Cardstock: Rose red, Pink pirouette, whisper white, kiwi kiss, vellum.
Ink: Regal rose, rose red, versamark.
Designer series paper - Raspberry tart.
Accessories: Eyelet border punch, large oval punch, scallop oval punch, clear embossing powder, silver brad, half pearl, snail adhesive and dimensionals.

Inspired by nature CASE !

This is my version of a Convention swap that I showed you in an earlier post, I have been wanting to copy it almost exactly ... I just love these colours together: Baja breeze, not quite Navy and vanilla. On the left is the original card by Lorinda Brooks and on the right is mine with added embellishments. The background is stamped with versamark ink and clear embossing powder using the Dreams du Jour butterfly stamp. My inspired by nature flower stem is stamped in Not Quite navy ink on vanilla cardstock. To adhere the glitter I have used the 2 way glue pen and then sprinkled it with dazzling diamonds. What I liked about the original card is the use of the "punches three" stamp and the words put up on dimensionals. The sentiment is True Blue friend - kind of fits with the colours ...Then all that was left to do was the Ribbon which is fastened behind the card and a filigree brad attached on top .

Mother's day ...

This is really strange, I made a mother's day card and don't have a mother to give it to.
Perhaps, I made it in memory of my mum.
Or just in case I needed to do a mother's day card workshop this week ...
Really I just wanted to play with the pink pirouette and the close to cocoa cardstock and the Always stampset (heart and coordinating wheel). Just to see how beautifully it goes with the chocolate chip double stitched ribbon.
If you urgently need a card for your mum, mother in law, aunt or cousin send me an email...
And where does that little butterfly come from?
Dreams du Jour ... I didn't buy it JUST for the butterfly, there are 3 other gorgous stamps in the set ... just have to find time to ink them up and experiment with them.

This sentiment makes me think of my daughter, she is always on my mind ... even when I wish she was busy doing something else - or sleeping.
