A Two Bird Birthday celebration

At Convention I photographed a card up on the display boards and now I have made my own CASE (copy and share everything) ... it may not be an exact copy but it is probably pretty close.
I just love the colours together: Rich Razzleberry cardstock with the Cottage wall designer series paper.
The background stamping is Upsy Daisy in rich razzleberry ink. Have you notice how stampin' up ink is always a tone darker than the cardstock of the same colour? so that you can get this shadow stamp affect.
The page of writing is half a Top note cut with my Big shot machine and sponged around the edges with ink.
The script is stamped with the rustic rooster background stamp in pale plum ink to give it that rustic vintage look. I have edged the "page" with the spiral bound punch.

The bird punch is just heaven to use as it is in the new punch style. Much easier to store because they are flat and like a good hole punch very easy to use.
I love how you can position the birds wings taking flight, or resting when the bird is on its branch.
*Two step bird punch $30.95 will be going up to $33.95 after 1 September!

The School holiday Guest Card maker is:

A Card by Jessica, age 7!!!
Don't you love school holidays? Everytime you sit down to do something there's a little voice over your shoulder asking "Can I do some mum? Can I help? What can I do now?"
Jessica (like her mum) loves to make craft projects and she is at that age now where she can follow instructions and also add her own little elements.
We each did our own card - she is very good at the tearing paper, sticking, tying ribbons and spraying water - if a bit too much at times.
We were actually supposed to be making mothers day cards for the West Gosford Market this Sunday, but then she remembered her cousin had sent her an Easter card and we hadn't sent a thank you card.
I made one card for the market: Perhaps next time Jess can make one for me?

The technique on the flowers is direct to rubber with marker pens and just before you stamp you give the rubber a light spritz of water.  And when you stamp it looks a bit like water colouring.
What we used to make these cards:
Stampset: Upsy daisy.
Stampin Up Markers: Old olive, pumpkin pie, rose red, ballet blue.
Cardstock: Ballet blue, pumpkin pie and Apricot Appeal patterned paper.
2nd card: Melon Mambo, whisper white, pretty in pink.
Bigshot and Top note die and Timeless Type Alphabet die.

Embrace life watercolouring gift voucher card

This believe it or not is a tri-fold card ... it is designed as a gift voucher holder ... it could be holding a birthday gift of small chocolates or, a gift card tucked inside or, for that someone who is not sure what you want but they know you like stamping ... it could be a stampin' up gift voucher from Stamping Joy to you.
Give that special person in your life my phone or email address and I will make up a gift voucher for $25, $50, or whatever amount they choose. Ready to give to you for a birthday or Christmas present. After folding my card into 3 uneven folds, I stamped a flower outline from Embrace Life stampset in black stazon ink onto whisper white cardstock and watercoloured the flower in baja breeze and Certainly celery ink. Straight from the ink on the stamp pad box lid with a water colour brush.
I have added a chocolate chip flower brad to the centre and mounted it onto chocolate chip cardstock, certainly celery and whisper white cardstock.
The ribbon is certainly celery poly-twill and a thankyou tag from the upsy daisy stampset. I have punched a fancy edge with the eyelet border punch and used my white gel pen to bring out some detail in the stamens of the flower and leaves of the baja breeze stamped flowers at the bottom. Here it is opened out.
Card Recipe:
Stampsets: Embrace life ($45.95), Upsy daisy($33.95).
Cardstock: Baja breeze, chocolate chip, certainly celery, whisper white.
Inks: Baja breeze, certainly celery and black stazon.
Tools and accessories: Flower brad, white signo gel pen, word window punch, eyelet border punch, Certainly celery poly-twill ribbon, crochet thread.

Embossed Upsy daisy scrapbook page

I have cleaned up my dining room (aka Nerida's craft table) . . . so in order to finish this scrap book page I had to wait a week, we had visitors and they might have wanted to use the dining table occasionally. So I haven't made a card for days... not that you would notice. I usually make up for a gap in stamping with a flurry of activity and ideas. I've pulled out the embossing powders again ... This time upsy daisy in silver embossing powder matched with the gorgous Designer series paper Urban Garden - I didnt even notice that this image was such a perfect match. But then Stampin' up always have the coordinating paper, stamp, colour ranges available for making a project work. That's why I really like these products.
The title for this page is embossed in white -I have used the quote from Van Gogh - The way to KNOW LIFE is to LOVE many things. (From the dreams du Jour stampset.)It reflects a child's attitude to life , I believe: love everything, be passionate about the simplest things and really enjoy every moment of the present. Be it a garden bed of daisies, an ant hill on the side of a bush track, a lizard sunning itself on a rock, pretending to be an explorer of strange and wondrous places...

What you need to make this page:
Stampsets: Upsy daisy, Dreams du Jour, Gallery.
Cardstock: Baja breeze textured and baja breeze A4 cardstock.
Designer series patterned paper: Urban garden
Ribbon: baja breeze Striped grosgrain.
Other: Versamark ink, silver and white embossing powder, distressing tool, white signo gel pen (for journalling).

Forest friend birthday celebration

I wasn't sure how to use this set at first ... yet, it is so sweet: it is now my new baby and children's birthday set. I think the tree could be used in a number of ways without the animal friends, too. I like this layout because it is so simple. Kiwi kiss goes beautifully with chocolate chip and kraft in my opinion. The tree is inked in kiwi kiss, then with a marker I coloured the rubber in close to cocoa. After I stamped the tree I used the marker again to blend in the branchesfor a more tree bark effect. Then swiped the kiwi kiss ink pad around the edges of the cardstock, more at the base to simulate grassy hills behind the tree.
The "bambi" is cut out and raised above the other layers. The birthday Celebrations sentiment is cut out with the new scalloped oval punch and adhered with dimensionals.

Materials:
Stampsets: Forest friends, upsy daisy (sentiment)
Ink: Kiwi kiss, chocolate chip
Marker: close to cocoa
Cardstock: Chocoate chip, kiwi kiss, whisper white.
Other: kraft tafettaRibbo, Scallop Oval punch, Dimensionals.

A crystal effect on Fifth avenue floral

Practice makes perfect so I have been brayering anything that doesnt move and in many different colours ... these are the last two of this series (promise).
I made this one today and finished it this afternoon with a background of circle circus stamping and some purple grosgrain ribbon. The Cardstock is Pacific point, a really nice ocean blue in my opinion and it goes beautifully with perfect plum. I created a second layer of rose by brayering two images and cutting out the second one so that I could put it on top with dimensionals. Then just because I am currently obsessed with it, added a few petals of crystal effects. I do like how the colour of the ink changes colour when you add the crystal effects - deeper and transparent. Then I finished off the card with a sentiment stamp from Upsy daisy: Birthday Celebrations!
