A case of page 12 from the new Autumn Mini ...

I have created a CASE (that's Copy and Share Everything) of the card design on page 12 of the mini catalogue using Soft Suede with Rich Razzleberry and Basic black.
When looking for ideas I go no further than my catalogues ... perhaps the kraft, baja breeze and kiwi kiss just doesn't look so good to you?
I simply used the colours I thought would work best (in my opinion) and have quite a different card I think.
The two tags fit neatly into a slit pocket on the front of the card.
I've covered the slit with the strip of black and white stamped cardstock.
Both tags have been stamped in black, Soft Suede and Rich razzle berry swirls from the Vintage Vogue stampset.
And tied with ribbon through a rhinestone brad on the one above.
The sentiment is one long stamp that I have inked with a black marker direct to rubber a few words at a time.
I have stamped and cut out the two flowers in the razzleberry ink on white cardstock.
Finally the card base of Soft Suede is stamped in soft suede ink with the same Vintage vogue swirl.

Vintage Vogue and Very Vintage Wheel

When I opened the new Autumn Winter mini catalogue these were the two stamps that grabbed my attention. Pages 16 and 17 are just about warn out with ruler measurements, late night pondering and staple bending... you see as a demonstrator I get to see the mini catalogue for a month before it comes live. There is "pre- order" and then playing secretly with the new stamps and accessories before the official launch date.
What was even better?  the Vintage vogue stampset comes in both wood mounted and clear mounted stamps.
The clear mount stamps are actually stampin up quality rubber stamps, mounted on foam and onto cling type film which makes them cling or stick to a clear mount block.
Clear as ? I think they are better than wood because you don't have to seal the wood blocks anymore, and you can see better where you are stamping. And, they come in a plastic storage case (about the same shape and size as a DVD box) so storage is really easy.
I couldn't wait for the chance to ink my first image of them. The flower with a scripted print on it, the floral swirls, and with gorgous words like: Life happens. Love helps. You raise kindness to an art.
The Very Vintage wheel is going to be great as a background for all those pretty and shabby chic kind of cards and scrap pages.
And look what they don't show you in the calalogue?
The Very Vintage Wheel has a bonus butterfly on the end of it!
Now I asked around what those words are on the wheel ... not a lot of french speakers in my circle of friends and family but loosely the words say:
The park in May is in flower, come into the meadows, and love the countryside.
Four years of french at school was really not one of the high lights of my learning achievements.
Now as you can see this is an Easel card. A card with its own stand. They are much easier to make than they look only two bits of cardstock with some strips for decoration.
The strip of ribbon (in Rich razzleberry) holds the top up so that it doesnt slide forward, but you can fold it down flat easily enough for postage.
And the sentiment comes from another new stampset:
Heard from the heart. Four large cling clear block stamps for $28.95.
You will need a large narrow clear block for this one (Block H: 11.3x4.1cm) $13.95
Card recipe:
Stampsets: Vintage vogue, Very vintage wheel, Heard from the heart.
Cardstock: Rich razzleberry, Pale Plum, whisper white.
Ink: Rich razzleberry, Pale Plum.
Accessories: silver brad, Rich Razzleberry ribbon.

Any one who speaks french or can translate (not using google translator) contact me for a $5 off voucher on your next order.

The simple easy medallion card ...

This card is one that we made at the Autumn Winter Mini launch. It is a CASE (that is Copy And Share Everything) from the front cover of the new Mini.
You really dont need to be creative in this game: just have an eye for what you like and using the stampsets that you love, substitute what doesn't work for you into something that does.
Take one Melon Mambo card front for instance:
The medallion stamp is so big it covers almost the whole card front so two stamps and its done.
With a strip of the gorgous Designer Series Paper "Cottage Garden", layered on a strip of the new in-colour Rich Razzleberry.
How pretty are these two colours together and they go with Orchid Opulence, Pale plum and lavender lace as well.... Now I do hope you like butterflies because this one comes as an a la carte single stamp (on the last page of the new mini catalogue) - if you don't like butterflies just  think of it as a great big purple moth.
But, seriously who doesn't like a fluttering butterfly?
Lastly we added the tiny tags that say "hello friend" - they are so sweet: 17 stamps for justs $28.95!
We have punched them out with the new Jewelry tag punch. The accents are held on with a silver brad.
Card Recipe:  (what you need to make this card)
Stampsets used:
Medallion (wood mounted stamp) $33.95
All a flutter (wood mounted stamp) $12.95
Tiny Tags (17 Clear mounted stamps) $28.95
Cardstock:
Rich Razzle Berry, Melon Mambo, whisper white.
Cottage Garden DS Paper $16.95 per pack of 12 sheets.
Ink: Rich Razzle berry and Orchid Opulence.
Tools: Medium Jewelry punch ($20.95), Silver brads, mat pack and taylors awl.

New Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue Launch

The projects we made on Monday night.
The new mini has so much in it - 35 pages worth of new stamps, Designer series papers, new incolour ink, Cardstock and matching ribbons.
There is so much new product it was difficult sticking to just three projects.
Here is the photo of our table of busy ladies papercrafting throughout the evening. We finished all our projects in record time and they were still smiling at the end of the night.
The display table held some very inspiring samples contributions from all the demonstrators on the night.

This is just a few of the items on the table.
And here are some of Stamping Joy's contribution.
I am loving these new products: the new punch style, the clear stamp blocks and stick on rubber stamps, the new razzle berry, melon mambo and Soft Suede. Just what we needed to get us through this extended main catalogue year and how beautiful is the top-note die cut using the Sizzix Big Shot. Over the next week I will show you some of the projects I have made using products out of the new mini.
Watch your email boxes for the extended Launch night Specials going on until 14th of April.

Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue launched and wish list growing...

Our Autumn Winter mini catalogue launch was a success!! !
And today is the official start of the mini catalogue on 1 April 2010.
Wait till you see what is in it:
click here to view the new catalogue online.
New clear mount stamps (expect stampin' up quality with these ones) - they are nothing like some of the other stamp brands when it comes to the rubber image.  These are a delight to use. Gorgous heavy clear crystal blocks. The actual stamps are made of rubber not acrylic. Sure you probably have atleast one acrylic one at home, but when you feel these you will have to have one clear stampin' up block at least.

New design punches - Sleek and easier to use, easier to store and easier to get a good clean quality punch out shape. The bird on a branch is just cute-as, and multiple punches on the same punch - the bird, wing and branch are separate.

New Big shot die cut machine - Exclusive to Stampin' Up die cut shapes: my favourite is the top note, but their are mini envelopes, pillow boxes, alphabets, embossing folders ... and it is compatible with other brands.
Ask me to demo some for you in the coming weeks - I am placing my second wish list order to day, and expecting a great big courier box after the Easter weekend.

Last day to Sale-a-brate! And a collage of stamps.

Look a photo taken outside in the sunshine, it has been raining here for 2 days now, must be easter long weekend approaching.
I made this card in the first week of March, it was one of those ideas percolating in the back of my brain.
The sentiment is on a large oval from the Sale-a-bration stampset Whimsical words:
"Follow your heart it knows the way"....which can apply to many situations and circumstances ... anyway, today is the last day of Sale-a-bration but I can see myself using these words on cards for quite a while yet.
Can you guess the stampsets that I have used on these?
They are exclusive stampsets that only hostess's can earn from having a workshop, or placing an order of $300 or more....
* Organic grace for the black outlined flowers and chocoate stems at the bottom,
...and Rustic rooster for the background script.
Of course I've sponged and rubbed the edges with my creamy caramel Ink pad and close to cocoa, too.
The base of the card is Confetti white cardstock with a layer of Basic black and the collage is all done on whisper white.
Chocolate chip Grosgrain ribbon completes the chocolate and cocoa story with dimensional foam dots to raise the large oval off the page.
I think the rain is easing up so have a Happy Easter everyone!

Launching a new mini catalogue...

It is officially Autumn, it just doesn't feel like it much, warm humid days, bright burning sunshine, leaves very very green... tomato plants growing....
On Monday night 29th March we are celebrating Autumn as Stampin up starts a new Mini catalogue on 1st of April 2010!
As it is not April yet I can't show you the new mini catalogue so instead I will show you a card I have made with the new in-colour Rich Razzle berry ....
It features a new stampset, a new wheel and the Current Sale-a-bration free stampset: Good neighbours.
Plus rub ons and new razzle berry ribbon. Isn't that colour just to die for?
And there's more, much more.. the new mini features:
The Big Shot!
Clear mount stamps!
New style punches!
Its a maxi rather than a mini as it goes for 5 months - April to August and its 35 pages full of card and scrapbooking ideas.
There you go, that is just the tiniest sneek peak of what's in store.
I am off to design some really cool projects for us to make at the launch on Monday night.
Can't make the launch?
I can post you out a copy of the Autumn Mini catalogue, or host a party at your place.

Nature's Rustic Collage

I had to show you my second card using this rustic collage technique.
This time I've used a bit of Creamy caramel spongeing to make the white embossing pop out from the sahara sand.
You get that sand-blasted white wash effect by rubbing the whisper white craft inkpad over the stamped design, then I sponged creamy caramel over the top.
The Dragon fly was given a touch of white gel pen, not too much.
Then I have stamped the words with whisper white craft ink: Happiness always (another free stamp set from the Sale-a-bration catalogue)... gotta love free stampsets.
And then I added the stamped and watercolour-penciled Dragon fly from the Nature's nest stampset raised on dimensional foam.
As Dragon flies are inherently transparent and shimmery I used my two-way glue pen and dazzling diamonds for a little bit of bling.
Recipe: all of the above, plus the eyelet border punch and Basic Black grosgrain ribbon.

Easel card Inspired by Nature

I am sharing a card I made at the end of last month, that I couldn't show you before because it was for  a friend's birthday ... Anyway, this is the Easel card I made.
It uses the gorgous butterfly punch, Inspired by Nature stampset, glitter and Designer series Paper: Urban garden.
The butterfly down the bottom is enjoying the sunshine with a layer of glitter underneath the wings.
The stampsets used are: Inspired by Nature (both the grass and the flower stamps laid over one another)
and the words are from Butterfly prints.
I have inked up the daisy with Pacific point, rubbed off the flower centre  and added some lavender lace marker to the rubber before stamping on the cardstock.
Then for texture I have covered the petals in crystal effects.
You can see how I have dotted the centres with the crystal effects. They're supposed to look like dew drops in the sunshine.
The ribbon and button hold the easel in place.
There is even a place (under the folded easel bit) for some extra stamping and wishes.
If you would like to make this card send me an e-mail
and I can come and make it at your place.
Too far away? You can order supplies from me and stampin' up will deliver them direct to your door.
Here is what you need:
Butterfly Punch ($30.95 value)
1 Pack Assorted Cardstock ($14.50 value)
Urban Garden Designer Series Paper ($16.95 value)
Old Olive Grosgain ribbon ($14.95 value)
Inspired by Nature ($41.95 value)
PLUS

Natures Nest and Vintage Labels

I have re-discovered Sahara sand as my new neutral.
Well, all these colours are neutrals actually! Black, white, grey, sand, and a touch of creamy caramel.
Do you like this technique? A Vintage version of Collage.
I have been inspired by a T-shirt design and the french provincial style (think shabby chic furniture).
Card Recipe:
Stampsets: Nature's nest (from the  Summer mini catalogue $39.95)
 Rustic Rooster (Free hostess set)
Vintage Labels (Free Sale-a-bration set)
Ink: Black stazon, Whisper white, Creamy caramel.

Film strip cards tell Tall Tales and Animal stories.

Try and say that fast. This style of card uses the great little spiral punch for making filmstrip edges or spiral bound note books and pages. See it in the picture above.
Its Thursday and I have been busy stamping and punching using my Sale-a-bration stamps and Animal Tales Papers from the Summer Mini catalogue. (Both of these finish on March 31st, so have a look and see if they are something you would like to get your crafty hands on).
I've made three cards from the same supplies, just different colour combinations and changed the layouts only slightly.
Pacific Point and Rose Red are very rich colours and match the Designer series paper quite well. The blue brings out the blue zebra and the Rose Red hi-lights the little owl and birds in the tree.
Here's my Happy Birthday sentiment on the new Vintage label stamp, cut out with the Wide oval punch and decorated with a piece of white taffetta ribbon.
Pacific Point with Old olive this time ... There's a crocodile and Old olive trees.
And here is the same vintage label stamped and raised on dimensional foam spots.
Lastly I made an Old Olive and Rose Red coloured card on a landscape orientation, featuring lots of chocolate chip elephants and some Rose red birds in a tree.
I have used a different Vintage Label and the "For you" Sentiment this time and that gorgous very easily tie-able white Tafetta ribbon again.
I am really enjoying these vintage labels can you tell?
Card Recipe:
Cardstock: Old Olive, Rose Red, Pacific Point.
Inks: Rose Red, Old Olive, Pacific Point.
Stampset: Vintage Labels - Free during Sale-a-bration.
Animal stories (for background stamping).
Designer series Paper: Tall Tales $16.95
Punches: Spiral edge, Scallop Circle, Wide Oval, 1 1/4" square.
Accessories: Ribbon - White Tafetta
