Field Flowers

Experimenting with new stampsets is what I enjoy....
I have kept to a very strict palette of purple and green.
Stamping on First Edition Designer series paper, for that botanical vintage look, I guess you'd call it.
The Field flowers stampset comes with two word stamps:
"With Love "
and "My thoughts are happiest when you're in them."
I like to accent my sentiment with a rhinestone
stick-on jewell, just giving it that little bit of bling.
Like a dew drop on the flower centre or edge.
The Field Flower set is a TWO STEP stamp set.
As you can see I have stamped the solid stamp in Wisteria Wonder Ink then, stamped again over the top of it with Concord Crush.
Giving depth and tone which makes an almost 3D effect.
The flowers fit perfectly into the Large oval punch so if you're not into fussy-cutting, this one pops your card up to the next level in a moment, without a pinch, with a single punch...
This flower stamp works well in pretty pinks, orange and red, blues and greens...
which makes it very versatile and one of my new Favourites!

Convention ... Vanessa's wow!

There are so many great moments during Convention ... one of the best experiences is the make and takes.
This year we made flowers from cardstock and ribbon.
We used a new flower die and a matching stampset ... gorgeous medallions for backgrounds!
We made:
a box with an acetate lid with flowers on top.
a scrap page with splatters of ink (in isocol)
a card with stamped butterflies and a matching butterfly punch,
and
using the newest diagonal plate on the "Simply Scored" tool
we made cardstock and patterned paper envelopes.
During the general sessions we found front row seats (mainly because I am short sighted and so I can get good photos of our favourite presenters) like this one of Vanessa Webb.
Vanessa showed us some gorgeous things to do with the framelit dies,
Shimmer paint, brayers and blender pens.
I can't wait to try all her techniques out and make my own shimmery suede flowers.
My favourite technique WOW was Vanessa's faux Ostrich feathers made from wide grosgrain ribbon.
What do you do with all those frayed ribbon ends?
You wind them round your brads and wow - faux feathers.
Vanessa used shimmer paint on rubber and mixed shimmer paint with ink to get these shimmery images.
I think this is a great stampset for baby cards ... for a boy or girl.
Called "BABY PRINTS" from the current Autumn mini.
Look at the shimmer on the bird stamp above, its done on gloss cardstock with plastic wrap and shimmer paint.
On the card above Vanessa has used the framelit as a template to make a shimmery frame sponge daubered around her stamped image. It looked amazing up on the big screen and IRL too.

June convention NEWS!

At convention, I finally caught up with Shelli for a nice photo ... She is so lovely, so generous with her time. I wanted to congratulate on becoming the grandma of twins recently. The theme for this years convention was "I AM..."
Shelli shared her answer ... I am grateful.
"It isn't happiness that makes you grateful, rather gratitude that makes us happy."
She talked about Doing things "my way" (which just happpens to be the global campaign this year).
She inspired us to feel good about what you do well, and what you want to do in your life. Reflecting on your individual talents and ability to be whomever we want to be.
This is a photo of Shelli on stage making some cards - she was incredibly funny as she fumbled her way through a project that she found had products on it that are not available in Australia... maybe it was subconsciously on purpose as she announced we will have huge changes to our Catalogue in September this year!! We will have one  annual catalogue and seasonal catys that last for 5 months each, this coming year!
The summer season caty starts on 1 Sept to 31 Jan ...
The Autumn season caty will go from 1 Feb to 30 June and then the next Annual catalogue will come out on the 1st July 2013 and it will be 30 pages larger to fit all the new products that we've been asking for.
Here is Ellen, Linda and I in the front rows enjoying the general session. Stampin' Up is continually growing through us, as we love what we do and we are sharing what we love.
Shelli gave us the quote:
"Insanity is doing things over and over again and expecting different results."
So the future at stampin' Up! is all about options, personalisation and customisation, value and relationships.
Hence the customisation of the Starter Kit being changed.
You can now pay $169 for your starter kit and order up to $235 worth of any product in the catalogue AND shipping is free on your starter kit order.
Why doesn't everyone do that?
Well you can ... the starter kit is fully customisable so you can get what ever you want ... a Simply scoring tool with all the attachments, or the Big shot with your choice of dies and embossing folders.
I want it!
Give me a call if you want it to ... I am planning my accomodation and flight to Brisbane's Convention next year do you want to come?
Some Stampin' Up! trivia for you:
Did you know the most popular stampset this year has been the 4 frames stampset?
The most popular product suite was "Under the Big top"!
70% of all stampsets sold were Clear mounted, as opposed to 30% wood mount sold.

Reason to Smile

Here is the card I made with my new Reason to Smile stampset!
I Love a new stampset which has many ways to stamp it.
Reason to Smile is a TWO STEP (not a dance)... stamp set.
Which means you can stamp one design over another which gives you a two layered design.
A shadow fill and an outline to be exact.
I've made this one in Rich Razzleberry and Pool party.
What I like about the flowers in this set is they fit nicely into the round circle punches.
This stampset is only available during June - you can get this one for FREE by spending $125 or Alternatively you can purchase it this month only for $36.95 (wood-mount) or $28.95 (clear-mount).  Like a mini Sale-a-bration set.
Phone or email me your orders by 30 June to get a Reason to Smile for FREE.

Stamping Joy at Terrigal High school Fete

Is it Sunday yet?

I have a stall at Terrigal High School Fete from 10 to 2pm.
I will of course have my cards for sale, retired stampsets at heavily discounted prices, ribbons, chocolates, gift bags, catalogues and lolly bags for sale.
And I will be demonstrating the new simply scored tools, big shot and stamping techniques that I learned recently at the Stampin' up! Convention ...
Hope to see you there.

June convention!

Where DID last month go? May and June are just the busiest of months: Convention, Conferences, working ... family holidays and suddenly its the middle of June!
How did that happen?
I was at Convention ... and if you've been to facebook lately you will have seen what Ellen, Linda, Denielle, Joy and 475 of our closest freinds have been up to.
So here we are in the Royal theatre waiting for the General session to begin.

Back row: Tanya, Linda, Denielle.
Front: Joy C, Nerida, Ellen and Mandy.
I have so many photos but will start with the swap I made.
Each one of  them were a bit different.
And here are the swaps I brought home.
Such a variety of styles and ideas from cards, teabag holders, earings and a necklace too.
I'd love to show them all but here are just a few.
This was my pillow gift from Ellen W (aren't they just gorgeous) for the 4 days I was away, we stayed at the Medina James Court with three other ladies.
Here is my swap from Joy Cunneen (above) one of my other room-mates.
We had the best time ... lots of laughs, chocolate and stories shared.
Any way - I will return with more pictures and the latest news from convention very soon.
Enjoy!!
