A scentsational Christmas card?

Here is another sneek peak card that I have made with my new stampsets and big shot framelits.
I can see many, many, many christmas cards being made with this set combined with textured embossed backgrounds, netted ribbons and scented embossing powder.
So, come a little bit closer to the screen, breathe in deep.
Can you smell the peppermint yet?
Believe me - It is gorgeous.
We have already have cherry and melon scented embossing powder and now Peppermint sticks.
There will be a new one called Sugar and spice, too.
I am really enjoying these new colours too: Gum ball green and Raspberry Ripple.
And did I mention this stamp comes with a matching framelit set so that you dont have to cut out the images with scissors. Just stamp and roll through the big shot machine.
OK, back to the crafting table to come up with another project for my catalogue launch party.
I still have a few more spots left at my table on Saturday 8th September at 7.30pm.
Leave me a message on 0468 877 125 and I will keep a place for you.
Why not bring a friend and share the fun?
Stampset: Scentsational christmas
Framelit die: Holiday collection
Scented Emboss powder: Peppermint sticks.
Scalloped Tulle Ribbon - Cherry cobbler.
Bakers Twine: Cherry Cobbler.

Betsy's Blossoms

Only one more week until the new catalogue goes live.
I thought it was time to show you a sneak peek of what I have been making with my new stampsets and papers. I will not reveal any of the big stuff yet, you will see that soon enough, just a peek now to get you wondering what's in store...
This card uses a new stampset called Betsy's Blossoms. I love the flower burst circle and the gorgeous little bird and you might notice some new colours going on here.
The Designer Series paper is called Floral District and this shows just a snippet of some of the bright Spring colours with white, Lucky limeade, Tangerine tango, Rose red, Baja breeze and a touch of Rich Razzleberry.
There's even a new technique that I have tried out on the bird to get that arty mixed colour effect.
We might have a go at this technique at our launch party this Saturday night.

Father's Day is just over a week away!

How scary is that? and how fast is this year going?
In preparation for the school father's day stall I have been making a few father's day cards to donate.
I started my first card with two stampsets:
World's Greatest (a sneak peek here of what will be in the new catalogue on September 1st).
And the Broadsheet Alphabet ... plain and simple on Confetti white cardstock.

Happy with that!
Then to step it up, I cut out the world's greatest stamp using my Big shot and Label Framelits.
Then punched out the DAD letters with my postage stamp punch (with a bit of sponging).
After much discussion, expert creative director (daughter)
decided it needed a picture stamp
so we chose the strong man from "Under the big top" stampset (with a touch of watercolouring).
The next card added bicycles to ride their way over the DAD obstacles.
And somwhere we added in that tyre-track stamp along the top.
It gets more and more complicated, as these things do... or is that creative?
A strong man, balancing on a bicycle, with watercolouring, sponging and markers (direct to rubber).
And finally, a few splatters, random script stamping and you have it
The world's greatest Father's day card -
Until next week, when we create again with quick and hasty,
DAD's DAY is on Sunday and we forgot to make a card inspirations!

Topnote and Framelit purse

I made these two purses for some ladies last week, one loves tea and the other coffee.
Plus of course I added some chocolate inside.
I CASEd the idea from Sharon Muir, a friend I met at Convention in May.
The main purse is made with a folded piece of cardstock, cutout using the Topnote Die.
Texture is also from the Big shot using the Wallpaper embossing folder.
When you open the purse there is place for your message and place for your t-bags or coffee pouch.
This message says: "Tea isn't a drug its a vitamin!"
I have used markers to colour my stamps, especially the word stamps, you can use what words you like and leave out the ones you don't.
Concord crush is one of my most favourite purples that Stampin' Up have had, sadly it is an in-colour that we have had for 2 years now and is on the retiring colours list...
As is Poppy Parade, this gorgeous bright red.
There is actually quite abit of retiring product on this one.
The stamp "Just for you" is from a hostess only stampset, still available until 31st August.
And the heart printed Jelly bean brads (centres made with epoxy) are so sweet!
The note on this one says: "A morning without coffee is like sleep."
Coffee and chocolate the perfect combination for a workers survival pack!
Recipe:
Stampset: Morning Cup, Tagtastic (hostess set 2012).
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Poppy Parade, concord crush.
Ink: Markers - Poppy Parade, Concord Crush.
Tools: oval punch, corner punch, Jelly bean brads.
Big shot tools: Big shot, Topnote die, Framelit die, (for the handle),
glue dots.

Retiring and on special!

Making room for exciting new products ... I am waiting daily for my first order from the September 2012 catalogue!
Here's a glimpse of some of the products that are on the retiring list:
All these products are not going through to the next Annual catalogue. So most of them are Discounted ! Many are down by 25% and some are reduced by 40%.
The 2010-12 Incolours: Concord crush, Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzaz and Blushing Bride are all at the end of their 2 year season. Many of the inkpads are down to $7.17 (40% off).
You will not see these colours again, me thinks.
And as the inkpads are being changed to the new solid foam style, many of the colour family inkpads are on sale too.
All textured 12x12 cardstock is going,  and single colour markers, smooth 12x12 cardstock are also to be reconfigured. You will only be able to buy them in their colour families ie. as a pack of ten.
Other products being reconfigured / updated / improved: are the Stampin' Scrub cleaner,
our paper cutter (usually $39 down to $29.96),
the Mat pack ($21.71) and the paper piercer,
the mini paper cutter kit (includes the cutter, distresser, creaser and perforating blades in one keyring kit $33.95.
Punches we are saying goodbye to include:
The Eyelet border punch, the Pinking hearts border, five petal flower, the round tab punch, the lace ribbon punch, and the heart to heart punch too.
Tools I have loved: The Crimper tool, Essential Distressing pack (with ink spots, sanding tools and files)$28.46.
Wide Grosgrain striped ribbon, thin grosgrain, Glimmer brads, flower brads, mini vintage tags and not to mention the heat tool (for embossing powder is on the way out, to be replaced with a two speed gun) down to $37.46.
Early next week, I am placing an order for retired stock, hopefully before more products go on the "gone forever" list. Email me soon, if there is something you can't live without.

Card in a box day!

Cards by Nerida C, Linda H, Felicity H.
It seems like ages ago, so much happens in a week,
we had a Team stamping day at Niagara Park Guide hall.
The Inksomniacs team got together to make cards in a box.
Here are some of the cards we made on the day.
This one is both a sneak peek of a stampset and new white ribbon coming out in the Anunual catalogue in September, which I received at Convention (I love butterflies and just can't wait to order the matching butterfly punch). It also shows the gorgeous lace ribbon border punch, which I have just found out is retiring very soon...  (how can that be?) The scallop ribbon border punch (under the butterfly) is continuing through.
The next card in a box was made by Felicity Hawkins, I just love the white texture on white, loving those butterflies, and the patterned paper stack (purple is still my favourite colour).
In the afternoon we kept ourselves busy with our own projects and so I stamped away with my Crumb cake and Soft suede inks on Very Vanilla cardstock. Using my Blossom punch and Mixed bunch stampset.
Another retiring stampset used here ... the Medallion is on sale (while stocks last) for $25.46
Linda showed us how it makes a lovely Christmas wreath in Always Artichoke ink and Cherry cobbler.
Or a Thinking of you card on any occasion.
