When you mix the new with old favourites you get?

Some of my favourite flower stamps are going, or not going to make the new catalogue.
Ones like Secret Garden and Fabulous Florets that are designed for water colouring, scattering and combining in bunches.
I have chosen to make a larger size card using the naturals specialty paper which has clear embossed patterns on it. A technique that Shelli demonstrated on stage at Convention is to paint white craft ink with a blender pen over stamped flowers.
So that's how I painted my background card then stamped several Secret Garden flowers on white card ( using new Memento black ink).
The other new technique is using blendabilites in gorgeous Rich Razzleberry tones.
On the inside I have stamped a few new stamps in the corner, combined with retiring En Francais with some cut out Fabulous Floret flowers.
Then as I was inspired to create even more flowers I made a matching bookmark.
Where will I go when I need a classic French script when "En francais" is gone?
Retiring products:
- Secret Garden
- Fabulous Florets
- Natural composition specialty papers
- En francais background

Project life is here!

Get ready for a scrapbooking revolution with Project Life!

It helps busy people (so basically all of us) document life using photos and journaling in a quick, simple, and fabulous way.

We've partnered with Becky Higgins, creator of Project Life, to offer a complete line of elite products.

Becky explains, "It's called Project LIFE because it's about YOUR LIFE. Whatever your life is. Whatever your stage of life. Whatever your family circumstances. Whatever your lifestyle. Project Life is designed to help anyone and everyone get their pictures into a book."

In a nutshell, it's all about spending more time making memories and less time scrapbooking them.

Why project life?

  • Pocket scrapbooking is all the rage! Project Life started this shift in memory keeping and continues to lead the way.

  • Coordination, coordination, coordination. Stampin up do it best, and our Project Life line is no exception.
  • Our products center on things that matter most-weddings, babies, kids, and the everyday moments of getting together with your favorite people-all things that need to be remembered.
  • Our card collections come without rounded corners so you can decide if you want to keep them that way (and match the corners of your photos as they come) or use our Project Life Corner Punch to round them out.
  • Our card collections come packaged in an exclusive storage system that holds all your Project Life supplies on your desk: cards, journaling pens, photos, accessory packs, stamp sets, and more.
These limited products are available to order today 10 June, more will be revealed on the 1st July as the new catalogue comes out.

Mondays card class and the retirement list in pictures

Cards we made at our card class this week featuring retiring stamp sets and accessories.
See them here:
http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=977
As you've heard the 2013-14 catalogue will retire in less than a month.
We made some cards using the clockwork stampset which is so cool for fathers, male and retirement cards with the fob watch image, compass, cogs and clock images.
The background has seagulls flying amongst waves so its great for ocean and beach style cards too.
Our second card uses the "shop around " wheel as a back ground and flower centre.
We used ruffled strawberry blush ribbon and Victorian crochet and a "fine feather" inked with the in colour markers. I love how the ink, markers, cardstock and everything coordinates.
We punched the Midnight Muse flowers with the Fancy Flower punch and distressed it until the paper layers delaminated.
There are so many things on the retirement list. Give me a call if you want to order or see some more items that are only on sale until end of June, or stocks run out...

Convention 2014 ... continued

Since I only took 350 photos this year of Convention, you will have to make do with a short slide show of photos. Here we are soaking up the atmosphere, Wanda and I, standing in front of the stage between sessions.
There were so many not so sneak peeks of new products that will be coming out in the New Catalogue. Such as alcohol based markers called "Blendabilities".
Shelli featured several new stamps and a brand new photo storage, scrapbooking system called "Project Life".
Shelli also decorated some gift boxes with new stamps, star shaped dies and bakers twine pompoms.
There are some gorgeous new card kits, envelopes and all the new alphabets will be in clear photo polymer...
 New alphabet dies too...
I particularly like this stampset called "tap, tap, tap" available in July!
New Designer Series papers (DSP) but don't worry I am not giving much away here, you will soon see it all when you: place an order, come to a class or the launch of the 2014 annual catalogue. That's when I start handing out free catalogues and we get to play with the new products in real life.
Each evening we took ourselves out to dinner on the Yarra river.
We had quite a few make and take sessions at large round tables where we shared our new stampsets and explored the new colours on some creative little projects.
Our group: Lorraine, Wanda, Denise, Amanda, Nerida and Michelle.
While away I celebrated my 5 year anniversary with Stampin' Up! and took a walk across the stage at the annual Awards night.
