Christmas bauble card - tutorial.

You will need :
Naturals white card stock (one piece 9.5cm x 13.9cm) and a card base.
Circle punch 2 1/2" (6.4cm)
Scraps of patterned paper
Ribbon (thin taffeta)
Stamps and ink (Coastal cabana, Burmuda bay and/or Island Indigo).

1. Punch circle in the single piece of cardstock, and turn it over.
2. Put double sided tape on top bottom and sides of circle.
4. Lay the strips of paper over the hole, starting with the centre until the hole is filled with paper. You can place more tape over the top to keep it secured.
5. This shows how it will look when it's done.
6. Stamp a background stamp ( I used the Evergreen stamp set ) because I like the silent night text, all over the front.
7. Put tape on the back of the single sheet and stick it to your card front.
8. Add a piece of ribbon from the top down to the circle, tucking the top edge under and covering the bottom edge with a ribbon bow and a stick-on rhinestone.
9. Add your stamped greeting, sponge or ink the edges and you're done.
Note the gorgeous new taffeta ribbon in Burmuda Bay ( annual catalogue) and silver ribbon from the Holiday catalogue.

Evergreen to Ever-Blue.

This is one of the cards we made at my class on Friday.
Using the "Evergreen"stampset and "Greetings of the Season".
I just wanted to show how the same card can look in different colours. Starting with a traditional combination of greens in the first card: Pistachio Pudding and Old Olive on Naturals white cardstock and whisper white.
The second is using pistachio Pudding again with Gumball Green.
Now changing the darker colour to Island Indigo with pistachio Pudding, and lastly using the Coastal cabana blue with Island Indigo.
Same card, different looks just by changing out the greens with blue.
My favourite colours this season are Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo, did you guess?
We cut the edges of the sentiment with the scallop circle punch which echoes a little the shape of the Apothecary Framelit used for the tree.

Baby prints wisteria wonder

A purple baby card?
Sometimes You don't know whether its a girl or a boy so, I have to create two cards, or a non gender specific coloured card.
That's how I came up with rainbow coloured footprints, purple ribbon and wisteria wonder cardstock.
I just love babies with their tiny little feet and impossibly small fingers so when I saw this stamp set "Baby prints" I had to have it and thought the words cherish the moments just a perfect phrase for all manner of baby related occasions.
Card Recipe:
Stamp - baby prints
Cardstock - wisteria wonder and whisper white
Ink - 2013 in colour assortment Stampin' write Markers.
Tools - Big shot, mosaic madness embossing folder, apothecary Framelits.

An Evergreen silent night

Who is interested in a stamp a stack of Christmas cards?
This card will be easy to create in multiples for your Christmas cards this year.
I have used the "Evergreen" stamp set and "Greetings of the season".
The colours are: Pistachio Pudding and Old Olive with some sponging around the edges and a silver star punched out of silver glimmer paper.
I am thinking I'd like to make this card in different blues and greens. Or perhaps in red and cherry cobbler, or in purples like eggplant and perfect plum!
Cardstock - whisper white and Naturals white.
Ink- Pistachio pudding, old olive
Tools: big shot, Apothecary Framelits, large scallop circle punch.
Sponge dauber.

Scrap paper Christmas baubles

Here is today's Christmas card using two of the carry over stamp sets from yesterday's post.
I have used Greetings of the Season for the words and Evergreen for the background stamping.
A very easy card to make.
Using the large circle punch and strips of scrap paper, a piece of ribbon and a rhinestone.
I like the effect do you?
Would you like to make Christmas cards with me over coffee and cake?
Our next coffee and cards session is on Friday 30th August, 10.30am at Claus Manor, Wyoming. Give  me a call if you think you'll come.

A Christmas star burst

I do love a non Christmas coloured card and this season stampin' up have brought out a paper stack in Bermuda bay, coastal cabana, island indigo, pool party and smoky slate.
The colours of a winter frost ...think the bottom of a deep freezer, ice crystals forming on frozen packets of ice creams.
But this is a cool Christmas card right?
So I'm thinking of a night sky and rising stars over a coastal cabana sea.
I made three cards from just a few card sized pieces of patterned paper.
A stack of 48 pages is only $11.95 and each page is sized for card fronts.

I finished my cards off with a piece of Burmuda bay taffeta ribbon and a silver glimmer paper star.
The star punch is one of a three piece punch set which is carried over from the Autumn catalogue.

Seasonal Carry over list

These popular stamps and products have been carried over from previous catalogues and are still available to order until january2014.
Greetings of the season was one of my favourites from last year and I am continuing to use it in my cards this season.
Snow flakes are popular because they are so pretty with all that lacy detail, they make great background patterns.
And my favourite tree stampset has to be evergreen, with two-step stamping, or perhaps three?
And the words to silent night...
Not to mention the Punch pack of three Christmas shapes.: a star, bauble and tree which I have seen some great ideas for.
I will be back to show you some cards I have made with some of the carry over products shown here.
Would you like to start your Christmas cards at home? Give me a call and we can stamp a stack of them at your place or come to a Christmas card class with me. Call Nerida on 0468877125.

Father's Day Grunge

Ok here is a reminder, next month is Father's Day so I started looking around for father-type inspired cards and thought I wanted to use some grunge and washi tape too!
I was inspired by Angie at
I've used the Epic day washi tape torn straight from the roll and stamped Happy Father's Day onto a punched modern label.
The Classic ink colour is Basic grey for the splatters and all tied up with linen thread.
What do you think - is it man enough?

Friday Christmas card class

Just a quick post to mention my first Christmas card making class is on this Friday at Claus Manor, Wyoming. Enjoy coffee cake and make a Christmas card.
If you are local to me RSVP  and I will save you a seat @10am to 11.30am
Call or text nerida on 0468 877 125.
If these are popular I am thinking of starting a series of classes on a fortnightly basis.
Why Christmas cards I ask myself? Because there are only 19 weeks to Christmas.
I've reserved us a table, so come for a coffee a cake and stay to make a card with me if you like.
Claus Manor is a lovely little cafe and Christmas shop so you'll probably find some good inspiration for gifts here, too.
Here's another of my early christmas inspired cards.
Both cards feature the new Mosaic punch and Modern Mosaic embossing folder.
I just have to mention this cute little Santa stamp that comes as part of the "Tag it" stamp set.
When you purchase the Six stamps in the "Tag It" set,  Stampin' Up! Will donate $3 to Ronald McDonald house charities Australia.

This and that journal cover number 4?

I am really enjoying my Epic Day This andy that journal. Everyone who sees one has a different idea for the way they will use it.
As a mini scrapbook, a written journal or diary for 2013, a journal to record the movies, theatre tickets, concerts and events you attend, a place to stick your inspirational photos, clippings and quotes, somewhere to plan and write your goals, dreams and ideas for 2013?
Hexagons are so on trend right now. Every advertising brochure, newspaper, craft magazine seems to feature them ATM. This one is in red, white, vanilla and black.
My hexagon punch makes a card or page really quick to decorate with a few pieces of designer series paper a stamp in red ink. The three stampsets are: Everything Eleanor, six sided sampler and chalk talk.
Loving the black and vanilla patterned paper called Modern medley.
