Crumb cake butterflies

It is Spring which means new leaves, blossoms and butterflies floating about the garden.
I like the colour of this crumb cake cardstock with white - it reminds me of sand at the beach.
Or the leftover crumbs after a summer picnic?
The stampset is "Summer Solstice".
The leaves are stamped in whisper white ink and the butterflies in Basic Black stazon ink.
The sentiment is called "itty bitty banners" .
This is an all occasion style card where all you need to do is change the sentiment to happy birthday, or thank you, thinking of you, just for you ...

Black and white Wedding

 Recent card making session challenge:
Congratulations, Wedding , in black and white.
Black and white says wedding like nothing else.
It takes some fancy layering though to make a white on white card pop out and say: Special!
I came up with this design starting with the Mixed Bunch flower in stazon black, stamped, punched then layered onto basic black card.
Thanking you Teresa for the donation of a glittery silver brad for the centre of our flower.
We sponged the edges and layered white on white cardstock to announce our "Itty Bitty" congratulations.
For detail I added the paper-pierced Essentials, a piece of black spotted scallop ribbon and
glimmer paper punched hearts!!!!
Glimmer paper now comes in Silver, Champagne and Red see it on page 160 of the Annual catalogue.
$8.95 for 2 sheets of 12x12 inch paper.
Worth every glimmery square centimetre!

Baby Prints...

One of my long time school friends (that I met when I was 8 years old) is going to be a grand mother!
I am sending the mum-to-be a card and baby gift in advance... can't wait for the new arrival.
A close up of the card I made.
I got to play with my new "Delicate designs" embossing folders and the "Adorning Accent" edgelit, that from the first time I saw it, looked like a pregnant tummy and breast. (to me, anyway).
I have rocked, rolled and sponged the ink on these hands. They make me think of the many times I hand printed my own little baby's hands to measure her growth for her baby book.
Open the card and I have stamped congratulations from the "Itty bitty banners" set.
Don't these little feet just make you say "ohhhh!"
And then they pop up on strips of acetate held on with a few well placed glue dots.
Only a month to go I believe, so baby jelly bean is probably kicking his mum silly by now.
Next, I made a Clam shell box from the Crafter's anonymous tutorial.
The "B" could stand for BABY or the first initial of his name.
I have used the new "Morning Post" stampset punched out with the postage stamp punch. Tied on with some Baker's twine and a ruffled ribbon in the minty blue of Pool party.
And when you slide off the belly band and open the  box...
There's a cute little singlet inside that says:
" Will smile for food."
They didn't have ... will smile for mummy's milk!
I will have to start stamping my own singlets very soon.
I had so much fun today making these two projects... and the baby isnt even born yet!

Congratulations baby set of drawers

Another baby was born into the world last week so I had the need to make a Congratulations and welcome new baby card for his parents.
I chose Baja Breeze cardstock and ink and not a lot else, colourwise.
The effect of a set of drawers is deceptively simple.
Just an A frame card with 2 long rectangles and 2 short rectangles for the two top drawers.
Lots of sponging on all layers and a baby onesie (shirt) made out of a tag punch.
Here's a close up of the little baby suit. I hand drew the clothes hanger and stamped the welcome baby tag from the FREE Sale-a-bration set: Punch Bunch.
The little heart is stamped and punched with the gorgeous "Itty bitty" stampset and matching tiny itty bitty circle punch.
The itty bitty stampset also coordinates with a set of the cutest clear buttons and I have glue dotted a round button on top of the heart. Everything is raised on dimensional adhesive to get that 3 D effect of the little suit hanging off the drawer and the drawers slightly open.
So there it is, the cutest little set of 3D drawers ...
The Congratulations is from the Well scripted stampset (Summer mini) and the "legs" have been created using the curly label punch.

More itty bitty bits in Concord Crush...

Just because my favourite colour is concord crush at the moment... I am sharing this same card version 2 with you. Its a happy birthday card (another new stampset "well scripted" page 18 of the Summer mini).
Did you see the Cute little coffee cup in the centre of the flower? I have used the marker to rubber technique to stamp these little pieces in two colours. Always remember to do the lighter colour first, to keep your marker tips clean.
Actually this photo show what happens when you dont water your cacti and succulants in hot weather, they flower as a last ditch effort to survive. Best go and water the pot plants now the weather has cooled down.
One week its rain, next week its boiling hot heat wave conditions but that's Summer as we know it.

The card above uses itty bitty bits from the Summer mini and the square lattice embossing folder run through the big shot machine.
I have used two embossing folders on this card: polka dots for the centre of the flower and square lattice. The Edgeing on the green strip of cardstock is a new punch too: pinking hearts. (page 7 Summer mini $30.95).
