File folder cards

I made this card using the Envelope punch tool!
There is a youtube video by Patty that shows you how to make a file folder card.

I made this one for a friend's birthday this week. Such a cool idea for the organised woman.
She can file her birthday card away under Epic Day DSP!!!

This second card is made with the Modern Medley patterned paper.

Decorated with the Strawberry Slush stretch ribbon and Everything Eleanor stamps.

A very quick card to make using vanilla cardstock, DSP, my Stampin' up trimmer and the Envelope punch Tool.

Inchie squares gift box

This lovely gift box is so cool to make. It's called a one sheet wonder card box.
It will hold a whole stack of C6 envelopes and handmade cards.
Created from a piece of 12 x 12 " white cardboard (the backing piece that comes with a pack of patterned paper) and lots of squares of embossed paper.
This idea comes from the lovely Tanya Bell at StampingT.com.au
She made hers with 20 x 1 1/4" squares of patterned paper.
I have stepped it up by using the Natural Composition Specialty embossed paper and simply sponged all my squares with Elegant Eggplant ink.
My embellished box uses the gorgeous two-tone grey ribbon in the seasonal catalogue, two different purple ribbons from Stampin' Up! and several blossom and flower punches.
I did a fair bit of scrunching and distressing of the flower (great stress release) and added three beautiful feathers.
Enjoy!!!

Doily dresses

I found this idea on Pinterest yesterday and couldn't wait to try my own doily dress.
You can buy doilies in a pack of 24 from the seasonal catalogue (Autumn mini) for $4.95 it goes wonderfully well with the tea for two designer papers.

Sale-a-bration: Sycamore street papers, ribbon and buttons

How is this for a perfectly easy Birthday card?
Bright coloured circles, patterned paper and buttons.
Deciding what bright colours to go with was pretty easy with this one. All I had to do was choose some of the colours from the Sycamore patterned paper pack and add circles of cardstock that echoed the ribbon and button colours.
Everything on this card (except for the cardstock and twine) is a free product available during
 Sale-a-bration (ends 22/3/2013).
Even the Vine Street embossing folder that I have used on the base card.
Card Recipe:
SAB Stampset: Pretty Petites
Petite Curly label punch
Sycamore street patterned papers
Sycamore street Ribbon and button pack
Vine street Embossing folder
Cardstock: Tangerine tango, Pool party, Island Indigo, Raspberry Ripple and Sahara Sand.
White baker's twine, Circle punches.

Stampset: patterned occasions
Cardstock: Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple
Ink: In-colour markers 2013
Ribbon: Primrose Petals stitched satin

Two tags for Owl Occasions

If this is Saturday then you know that I am at Stampin' Up's Heartfelt Event at Darling Harbour and enjoying an exciting day ... what else can I say?
Wish you were here!
In the meantime, here is the card I made for the Demo boards for the stampin' up! Heartfelt event.
Owls are very popular this season - I am seeing them on pillows, Manchester, children's clothes, birthday cards and wrapping paper.
I have die cut a tag from the Two tags die using the Big shot in my favourite cardstock ( Crumb cake ).
Then glammed it up just a touch with a decorative strip of
 gold glimmer paper
cut with the Finishing Touches edgelit die.
It hides a piece of sticky strip that anchors my folded scallopped Tulle ribbon.
Did you notice the little owl crown?
It is a small piece of glimmer paper cut from the edgelit and raised on an even smaller piece of dimensional.
Recipe:
Cardstock: Crumb cake, Basic Black, Whisper white.
Gold Glimmer paper.
Stampsets: Greetings of the season, Owl Occasions
Ink: White craft ink, and Basic black.
Antique Brads. Scallopped Tulle ribbon.
Tools: Big shot by Sizzix.
Dies:Two tags die, Edgelits, Apothecary accents,
Embossing folder: Lacy Brocade.
Corner rounder.

Floral framelits feeling a little bit blue

Midnight muse stitched satin ribbon is so easy to tie bows with...
I just had to show you this floral framelit card I made in Baja Breeze and Midnight muse colours.
Soft and simple with stamped Daydream medallions and held together with a single silver brad in the centre this one was really simple to make.
Card recipe:
Stamp set: Daydream Medallions
Ink: Midnight Muse, Baja Breeze

Tools: Big shot,
Foral Frames framelit dies
Accessories: Midnight muse stitched satin ribbon
silver brad.

New Floral Frames Framelits

I have a new Big shot die.
Well actually 5 new framelit dies!!!
Five floral frames that fit inside each other and create the most gorgeous flower cards.
Is this a Chistmas card... do you think - reminds me a little of a pointsettia, perhaps?
I have layered the dies, stamped them with the Daydream Medallion stampset that I received at Convention and did a little distressing of the upper most flowers.
Topping it off with a Vintage facetted button with a Rhinestone on top of that!
The framelits work well with a single sheet of cardstock and have no difficulty what so ever cutting through two pieces of cardstock.
Which means you can make a folded edge card and tie it on the fold with a piece of stitched satin ribbon.

Black and white Wedding

 Recent card making session challenge:
Congratulations, Wedding , in black and white.
Black and white says wedding like nothing else.
It takes some fancy layering though to make a white on white card pop out and say: Special!
I came up with this design starting with the Mixed Bunch flower in stazon black, stamped, punched then layered onto basic black card.
Thanking you Teresa for the donation of a glittery silver brad for the centre of our flower.
We sponged the edges and layered white on white cardstock to announce our "Itty Bitty" congratulations.
For detail I added the paper-pierced Essentials, a piece of black spotted scallop ribbon and
glimmer paper punched hearts!!!!
Glimmer paper now comes in Silver, Champagne and Red see it on page 160 of the Annual catalogue.
$8.95 for 2 sheets of 12x12 inch paper.
Worth every glimmery square centimetre!

Core'dinations Cardstock and Holiday Oval Frame

This was actually a very quick card to make for me.
The new core'dinations cardstock has a different coloured core so when you tear it, distress it, emboss it or sand it you reveal the inner colour and get fabulous dimension and texture.
I simply ran the cardstock through the Big shot with the Holiday Frame embossing folder.
Then lightly sanded the surface with my sanding block and wiped it off.
I have stuck on a tree from the Pennant Parade stampset and a cotton ribbon on the front with dimensional adhesives.
Card Recipe:
Stampset: Pennant Parade
Ink: Gumball green, Raspberry ripple, Summer Starfruit.
Cardstock: Whisper white, Gumball green
 and Early Espresso Core'dinations.
Ribbon: 2.2cm natural cotton
Tools: Sharp scissors
Big shot, embossing folder,
Sanding block,
scallop edge punch.
2-way glue pen and dazzling diamonds.

Lace Ribbon Border card

I love this "Lace Ribbon Border" punch - Dare I say it is one of my favourites?
This card features it so beautifully.
I first saw this card design at Angela Sargeant's "Elite Stampers" Team Training day.
I couldn't wait to get home and try it.
So simple really, and hardly more than a two layer card, or perhaps less since it has so many holes in it.
Card Recipe:
Cardstock: Early espresso, Melon Mambo, whisper white.
Ink: Melon Mambo
Designer Series paper: Cheerful Treat.
Ribbon: Melon Mambo Scallop dot ribbon.
Tools: Lace Ribbon Border, Eyelet Border punch, Large oval, scalloped oval, Boho Blossom punch.
Stampset: "with love" stamp from Field Flowers.

A school holiday scrap page

When the sun was shining last week we visited a Garden farm called "Amazement".
It is full of activities for the children like mazes, three wheel bikes and lawn games to play.
Our favourite part of the gardens to visit was Bunny world.
Where you can pat the baby rabbits, Guinea pigs and chickens that have recently hatched.
The photos of Jess show her cuddling a couple of very friendly bunnies.
Can you imagine her oohs and ahhs?
The Title is stamped with my new Broadsheet Alphabet set.
I have stamped on whisper white cardstock and cut them out with my sharp Papersnip scissors.
For this layout I wanted to get several photos on the page so using a grid pattern I lined up the white borders of the photos.
I ran the scallop dotted ribbon through the centre and some strips of patterned paper on either side of the gorgeous pleated satin ribbon in Baja breeze.
The Apothecary Art stamp inside the Edgelit die makes a great journalling frame.

Mother's day note cards

I am making Mothers day note cards for my local school.
Probably make 20 or more at this stage.
This one is all pink and pretty, but might be a little time consuming with the watercolouring and sponging.
I have used the "Rue de Fleurs" stampset.
My favourite part of this card is the Framelit edge that I have created with the Big shot and the largest of the Framelit dies.
Happy Mothers day stamp is from "Teeny Tiny Sentiments" on the modern label punch sponged with Melon Mambo ink.

"Rue de Fleurs" for Mothers day

Isn't this a gorgeous image for mother's day cards?
A bodice bursting with flowers.
I've added two different ribbons some pearls and tiny crumpled roses.
A touch of First edition newsprint paper under the edgelits die and lots of other vintage elements in the pens stamped on Poppy parade cardstock.
I sponged around the edges of the Framelit die and watercoloured the stamped image.
Card Recipe:
Stampset: Rue de Fleurs, Teeny Tiny Sentiments.
Cardstock: Poppy Parade, Pool Party, Whisper White.
Patterned paper: First Edition
Ink: Black stazon, Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade.
Ribbons: white Organza ribbon, Blushing bride pleated satin.
tools: Boho Blossom punch, pearl jewels, blender pen, sponge dauber.
Big shot machine, Framelit and Edgelit dies.
