Dance teacher Thank yous

Our school dance group entered into the Hunter Dance Festival and danced beautifully on Friday night.
Every mother's eye gets a little damp when they see their daughter up on stage performing so confidently and gracefully to a beautiful  piece of music.
The girls and their teacher put in so much work, rehearsing each week.
Their dresses were  a soft blue with white ribbons and flowers in their hair. The cards I think reflect the texture and simplicity of their dresses.
One card I made with Pool party cardstock and the other in Coastal Cabana cardstock.
The Thank you greeting is from a hostess stampset (Postage Collection) and the frame is from a new stampset called Chalk talk and cut out with a Big shot die.
I have added some white ribbon and a Flower shop stamped flower punched out with the pansy punch.
I just love the coordinated look you can get with these tone on tone inks and cardstock.
The backgrounds are embossed with a new embossing folder called Beautiful Baroque.
Enjoy!!!

Owl Birthday

Today's card is one I made last week for a friend's daughter.
It's very pink and very simple to create -  after I created the layer of chevron embossing and the two circle "moons" then, the slowest part is gluing all the pieces of the owl together with a two way glue pen and adding a jewel or two.
How cool is this little punched out OWL?
Tools:
Owl builder punch $29.95
Wings and branch made with the Bird Builder punch $29.95
Melon Mambo "moon" punched with the 6.4cm Circle punch $29.95
patterned paper scraps and Rhinestone jewels.

Another This and that journal cover...

I am just finishing this front cover for a friend's journal that I am handing to her tomorrow.
She loves purples I am told. Do you agree this would make a lovely gift?
I have an order to make one up in Red!!!
There are so many new products on here... It's going to be almost too lovely to part with.
We have three Flower shop pansies in wisteria wonder, buttons, clay flowers and patterned hexagons.
I couldn't decide where to put the quote, because I didn't want it to cover the gorgeous purple flowers of this patterned paper. So, I stamped it on velum card stock in Elegant Eggplant ink and attached some rhinestones on the die cut label.
I used glue dots to attach it to the journal cover, which hold on extremely well to all types of papers and surfaces.
Recipe:
Epic day This and that journal. $18.95
Stamp: Feel Goods, flower shop.
Stampin around wheel : Shop Around
Patterned paper: Afternoon Picnic
Pansy punch, Simply pressed clay, crystal effects.
Ink: wisteria wonder and elegant eggplant.
Hexagon punch, Framelits chalk talk.
Rhinestones and clear Vintage faceted buttons.

Epic day This and That journaling

I have created the front cover of a new This and That journal. They are so beautiful to write in and so easy to journal your thoughts on a special day.
Up close I have used a sticker from the kit and cut out some images from patterned papers.
Hexagon is the new shape I am seeing in advertising and interior design pictures ... stampin' Up! have a hexagon punch that fits into the textured embossing on the cover of the journal. And I have used a touch of grey striped washi tape too.
The main colour is Calypso coral with a touch of  Basic grey, white, pool party blues.
Using my two butterfly punches for detail with a pearl for some soft bling.

Epic Day this and That journal $18.95
Epic Day designer stickers $8.95
Epic day Washi tape (3 rolls) $8.95
Hexagon punch $27.95

How to make Simply pressed clay flowers

Today is a CASE (copy and share everything) from page 180 of the catalogue. It's an inspiration point for me to showcase the new simply pressed clay and the Flower shop bundle of stamp and punch.
The clay is a fabulous new product. It is quick and easy to use because it doesn't need to be mixed or "worked". It comes already to go in a resealable foil pack so it stays fresh and ready to use.
You simply pinch a piece of clay from the foil pouch and press it into the silicon mould and push it out.
By bending the silicon mould in half the sides will fall out and a nudge with one finger will help it fall out onto your desk.
Voila a little flower or button is made!
You now need to put it aside overnight to let it dry.
About 6 hours for it to be completely dry.
Then you can use it as is, paint it with ink, or put a coat of crystal effects over it to give a glossy shine.

The button above has clear Crystal effects on top added straight from the bottle.
And this one has had a drop of Wisteria Wonder ink mixed into the crystal effects before it was painted on.
Some Helpful Tips:
  1. If you find the clay is sticking to the mould you may find it less sticky when the mould is cold. So just put it in the freezer for a few minutes before you use it.
  2. The clay doesn't need to be "worked" with your fingers as it too, works best when cold.
  3. I let my flowers dry on a silicon or plastic mat so that I can pick them up and put them somewhere safe to dry.
  4. Sticking your lovely creations to a card or scrap book page is simple too. Just use a wet adhesive or liquid glue such as the two-way glue penTombow multipurpose glue, or Crystal effects.

Flower shop thank you card

New stampset alert!
This really is my favourite time of year - seriously, beautiful crisp weather and a new annual catalogue to choose from.
Every time that parcel post man arrives at my door there's a new bundle of stamps and products to play with.
This bright little card is made with the flower shop stamps and matching punch.
Using some gorgeous in colours: Strawberry slush, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Crisp Cantaloupe.
To make some dimension with these flowers I have used my bone folder to gently curl the petals upwards.
In the centre of each flower I've placed a different embellishment. A punched heart, a vintage faceted button, a flower brad, and a clay flower that I made at convention - coloured with crisp cantaloupe ink.
I think this size card makes a cute Thank you or ... You make me happy note card that would brighten someone's day don't you think?
Flower shop stamps (set of 6) $33.95 clear mounted
Pansy punch $27.95

You can find this stampset on page 94 of the annual catalogue and if you purchase as a bundle you can save and get 15% off!

This is the second project we made at my catalogue launch party.
We used two new in-colours: Coastal Cabana and strawberry Slush!
The brand new stampset we used is called :
"Sketched Birthday".

It's a fun fold card, that we folded in almost thirds.
The largest 6.4cm circle punch is used to make a hole for the birthday cake greeting to poke through.
Inside I stamped a balloon and another sentiment form this set.
I like the sketchy style of the drawings and word-style in banners, that are easy to cut out with scissors, punch or Framelits.

Launch party projects

Here's one of the projects we made at my launch party on Friday night.
It's a cute little gift box resized to fit a t-bag and chocolate bar...
Inside we found enough room for a picnic ( or chocolate of your choice) and a t-bag or coffee sachet and slid in an after dinner mint too.
I am showing off one of the new designer series paper packs on this one -
The epic day this and that papers. The colours are Calypso Coral, Pool party, crumb cake, gumball Green, Daffodil Delight, Basic grey, vanilla and white.
We added a clay flower to the front of our box with a few dabs of two way glue pen. And as you can see below the white clay flowers can be coloured with our classic inks. Either before you put the clay in the mould or after its dry. So your embellishments will match your in colour and cardstock every time.
I just love that! And they are great with a coat of crystal effects as well.
At launch parties it's quite a rush to get through three projects in as many hours. But when you think that these cards only take ten minutes each to make there's  a lot of talking, sharing and meeting new people going on.
We used two new stamps - Label Love (that you can get for 15% off if you buy it in a bundle with the matching punch).
Happy Day - a stampset with fabulous rosettes for backgrounds  and fit nicely in many of our punches.

Thanks for dropping in for a look... Give me a call and we can make some of these cute boxes at your place.
Place an order of $50 or book a party with me in July and receive a new catalogue and gift from me,
Or I can post one direct to you anywhere in Australia for $10. (includes postage).

Catalogue launch

Last night we launched the newest 2013-14 Stampin' Up! Annual catalogue.
What a great night we had!
My Team of gorgeous ladies got to play with products and take home their very own copy of the
2013-2014 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue !
We had chevron patterned party bags and lots of new stamps and punches to create with.
Our display tables were running over with cards, boxes, bags and gift package ideas.
There were washi tape cards, My digital studio printed cards, books and samples to browse.
Here's a shot of the room with about half the tables in view. Linda is up front welcoming all our lovely customers and demonstrators present.
They all got a lot more rowdy after this photo was taken and the ink started flowing.
What is it with women, you get out the ink and the cardstock and its uncontrollable laughter and hilarity! I don't think my table could hear a thing I said, they just followed along with what it looked like I was doing. May be that's why every card comes out so very different from each other.
Here are some more cards from the display tables. Showing Tanya's washi tape card, butterfly and qurattrafoil designs.
My ladies all took home three finished projects, some clay sample flowers, a prize patrol gift, a new catalogue and of course some lollies too.  I'd call that a successful evening and i can't wait to do the next one! If you missed this catalogue launch don't despair, there are many BEAUTIFUL & FUN new products for you to enjoy in the catalogue and I am happy to come and do a launch at your place.
In the mean time ...
You can view the catalogue online at the following link. Enjoy!
